*Waves* Hi, everyone. I'm Starbucks4ever, a.k.a. SB4E. I've been a Creatures fan since January 2007. Not very long, but I love all of the games, and have a huge list of Creatures fan sites in my bookmarks. Some of you here already know me from the Gameware forums. When the forums shut down, I ran around for two days gathering up all the friends I had on GW and brought them to my forum. XD I'm also on A2K, though I don't post often. You'll recognize me there by my avatar(that's my Shee character, Aitha Luna). Well, she's more of a personality. :p Yeah, I'm a little crazy. And I'm just rambling here, so I'll be quiet now. |

I kinda mentioned a bit about myself in my help thread XDD but I used to play, then being a curious little 11 year old on saturday I rediscovered the games. I hope to get exodus for mac soon, my pc isn't working well. I was kinda scared about the community, because one of the first forums I visited was kinda dying DD: See you around then guys! <3 |

Well I found this community a good while ago but I have finally decided to come out from the corner and say hello. I am a Junior in highschool and am hoping to further the field of artificial intelligence as a career and life goal later in life. I saw Cog a few years ago at an exhibit they had orchestrated which sparked my mind and led to a deep passion which I hope will continue to last. While I do not believe myself personally that Cog will answer what they hope, its ideals sparked the want to personally venture into that field. I just recently found this game after reading about the wonderful LUCY project by Steve and Cyberlife who I look up to and find to be quite the hero by his accomplishments, goals, and ideals. I believe if he had the funding Cog had, his theories could bring about a much greater understanding and applicable discovery than Cog ever will. I have just recently started playing C3 and the docking station and would love any advice or techniques that anyone feels like imparting to me. I'll hopefully be quite active here as I enjoy the information within this site and what I have read to far within the forums. Its nice to meet you all. |

Hey there. I'm Steelfoot, and apparently I've managed to become a lot older than I thought--my first encounter with Creatures was back in 1990-something or another (I was fairly young, 8-ish I think) when I found C1 at a yard sale. Naturally since I was young and in a location where there was weak, if any, internet access for a long time, I didn't learn about the community that existed until later on, and even then I thought it was completely dead and I was scavenging the COBs of a bygone civilization. I even picked up a bit of CAOS in its C1 iteration in an attempt to create myself what had disappeared long ago, most of which is forgotten (but I still get CAOS jokes to a degree). In about 2003 or so I found Docking Station, but either out of my own obliviousness or a forum outage coinciding with my visitation of the Gameware site at the time, I once again wandered on believing myself the last Creatures player on Earth. I managed to get ahold of C3 at a garage sale somewhere in here, and then soon after forgot about the game that I believed dead. About three months ago I rediscovered the disc and some of my old agents, then dug around for some new ones that I may have missed. Much to my surprise, there were new agents and apparently a living community was putting them up! Fast forward to about ten minutes or so ago and I registered here. I'm not totally sure that I can be helpful but I'll do my best, and I'm trying to put together my old scripting capabilities--so far I can tell that I remember most of it, but due to the differences between C3's and C1's version of CAOS it will probably be some time before I can make anything of use. |

Welcome, Steelfoot! Sounds like you've had quite a journey! I myself have made two C1 COBs (which can both be downloaded from here), but sadly I lost my C1 CD and now I play C3/DS on a Mac. If you can still remember any C1 scripting work, (or have any of your old COBs around) please share them with us - there are still a few people who play C1 around that would love to know. Welcome to the forums, Steelfoot. My first game was Creatures 1 too, in about 1996, and it's still my favourite out of the lot - I think it has a kind of cute retro charm that the other games don't have. |
