I managed to ressurect a 10+ year old hard drive (which involved standing it up at every conceivable angle until it would be recognised) and found all my mall breed packs. Sadly, I didn't have the foresight to stash all the agents and cobs I had.
I even had the goat norns for C2 once upon a time, and they were hard to find *then*. |

hello! i'm gem(verse) and i've recently rediscovered my love (and obsession) for creatures! i'm probably on the younger side of creatures fans, but not by much.
i'm not a huge forum user, but i figured joining a community would be a lot of fun, especially since i've played the game solo for a long time.

I just started playing Creatures today, got the whole bunch of games, and now I'm working on getting all the official resources and the must-have patches and workarounds bit by bit.
I think I was fascinated with Creatures ever since, uh, 2006, I think? Around the time I started playing Sonic Adventure and discovered Artificial Life pets, anyway. It led me on a huge Wikipedia adventure and I found out that Creatures existed that way, though I never got to get my hands on the games until a few months ago, and then my backlog kept me from trying this out.
I really need to read the manual, but I'm looking forward to seeing the world unfold.
(...if anyone has links to the mall breeds, not the standalone ones, and they're willing to share them, I'd be so very grateful...) |

Hello everybody!
I'm Kathrin and I've been playing the game on and off (the Vista years) ever since I got a floppy disc with Creatures 1 way back when...
Nowadays, I prefer C2, playing Feral Runs when I can, hoping for high generations, an interesting mutation, etc.
I found the site on the hunt for some cobs I used back in the old days and - lo and behold - some of them are still available! So kudos to all of you for keeping the love for this dear old game well and truly alive.

Hello, I am new here. I mostly play Creatures 3/Docking Station because I can never figure out how to handle multiple C1 norns or how to get C2 working at all. I enjoy doing scenario runs and wolfling runs |

Hello guys and girls =D
Just found this page yesterday and my love for Creatures is back.
At the moment I'm trying to get DS to work, but it don't want to.
I have all three games, which one is the most popular at the moment, I'm not sure with which one I should start.
I'm a 27 year old female, working as a nurse for elder people so sadly working in a 3-shift system. (I'm online at very differtent times ^^')
Just wanting to say hello

Hi everyone! I'm brand new here. I joined the site a few days ago but I've been enjoying the downloads a little longer. I started my Creatures adventure with Creatures 3 back in 2000ish. I played consistently for many years but never got involved with any online communities and then stopped properly playing for a very long time while I went off to university and all that. A few weeks ago I reinstalled Windows on my desktop and chose these Sumatran rhinos as my wallpaper and suddenly remembered Creatures (is it just me?)... Went online, found this forum and an active community (you have no idea how happy I was to see people still engaged and creating!) and the rest is history as they say. I'm hoping that now I'm an adult I'm going to be able to figure out some of the things I didn't understand as a child and delve into what makes creatures tick a bit more. I am a biologist so it can't be that hard, right?! Anyway, I'm looking forward to what the future has in store! I was so sure I'd be a lone Shee trying to play Creatures again - what a wonderful surprise you all are! |

Hi Ron! Welcome to Creatures Caves! I'm surprised that you're having troubles with the cuttlefish, they usually survive well for me.

Hello, hello! I've been popping into the community once in a while for the past year... My interests tend to come and go in waves, so I can't promise I'll be an active part of the community. But I figure that at the very least, I should introduce myself.
Truthfully, I missed the great renaissance of Creatures. The only game I owned as a kid was one of the Playstation games, and I kinda...had a freakout because I panicked and cried over the thought that maybe I was going to let these cute creature suffer and die if I wasn't good enough for them, all of which culminating in me selling off the game. I was a strange child.
Somehow I still ended up keeping the manual, though, and I kept reading and rereading it - in spite of my fears, I still found the idea of artificial life to be very fascinating! In later years I learned that this was only scratching the surface, and there was so much more depth in the PC games, but I was still too young to really appreciate it. In the end, I missed the boat on games 1-3, and I decided I'd just wait for Creatures 4 to come out. (hahahaHAHA.)
It wasn't until a year ago that I finally sat down to actually play Creatures. I remembered the series while I was working on something for a collaborative writing group. One of the protagonists had just been revealed to be an android and the other heroes were debating whether or not he was a living, thinking being with a soul. And as I tried to think of what my character might say, I remembered some really old debates about Creatures! I decided to look up the games again to see if any major news had happened recently, one thing led to another, and... I ended up buying Exodus!
(For the record, I decided that a language barrier would have deterred my easily-distracted character from doing anything more than playing Docking Station for a week. I'm considering creating another character who's an artificial-life designer, though, so Creatures will be a huge inspiration in his design.)
I've been playing on and off since then, usually in Wolfling/Feral formats. I'm still in love with, above all other aspects to the series, all the potential and details. I don't recall ever hearing about any other game with this much attention to biochemistry. It's always so fascinating to me when I get a strange mutation that spreads through the population and affects how they live out their lives. |

This is a really late reply lol. Sorry.
Yeah, I used to spend a lot of time over at Albia2000. It's good to be back, even if I don't have a whole lot of time to spend on here very often. |

Hello all! I had a long hiatus from gaming and so missed a lot of games from the late 90s through the 2000s. I came back a few years back after some very unhappy times in my life, to put it succinctly.
And in the time since, I've discovered that I love games with deep systems. I came across Dwarf Fortress first and have played the heck out of that, and discovered Creatures from the recent RPS retrospective. I look forward to diving deep into this game and getting to know the community! |

Hey all,
I just wanted to stop in to thank everyone here for archiving all this great stuff for Creatures 3. I miss the community of old, back when this game was fresh.
I programmed some CAOS back in the day, toyed around and had fun, but never really released more than a few mods to a few friends. I've sadly lost all of it. I managed to find a few of my favorite old Norn breeds, like Ivy Norns and Emerald Norns... and have backed them up so hopefully I never lose them again.
Anyway, I babble. Good to see everyone, and to find an active community! |

Hi,
I've been a big fan of the Creatures games for years. I was obsessed with the PS1 games when I was about 8 or 9 but didn't find out about the computer versions until a few years ago. I've recently gotten back into the games and have been having some trouble modding so I figured I'd make an account and see if I could find some help!
Nice to meet you all. |
