Hey everyone!
Don't forget that if your Creatchi is about to pass away, you can sell your remaining items to the store for others to enjoy. Your coinchi balance will rollover to the new Creatchi once you adopt/hatch it.

PSA: There's a ton of grendelchis that need mates right now, and quite a few of them are closely related. Males are more desirable than females, but both genders are useful.

My grendelchi passed away yesterday so I adopted a new ettinchi! And she's related to my first ettinchi, how amazing!
She seems to be blue, but I've noticed that there are more female creatchis than male creatchis so I don't know if she'll manage to find a mate.

I could adopt a male ettinchi if you like. I'm interested in a gen 1 egg, though, if that's ok.

To bump this topic with yet another PSA, there's two male grendelchis without mates and absolutely NO female grendelchis for them to pair up with.
Therefore, I'd suggest anyone who's looking to adopt a new creatchi in the upcoming days rectify that.

This might be premature but with Monty passing away in 4 days, I'd be willing to adopt a female grendelchi to pair with a male, assuming there's enough time.
I'm also willing to adopt from the available eggs but I won't be adopting anything unless I can guarantee a mate for my creatchi.

Do you think we'll see more additions to creatchi in the future, like with the mall?
I'd love to see a hall of fame, with things like longest lived creatchi, most descendants, highest generation of each species, stuff like that. It'd also be cool if you got to see some stats when your creatchi died, like how many of each item it used, ratio of socialisation requests sent/received, and how much of it's life ti spent happy/unhappy/content.
Edit: Also it would be cool if they died happy they kept a happy face in the graveyard, with the sad face reserved for ones who died of disease or starvation before they reached old age.
Edit2: The statistics page needs updating! There are much higher generations than 16 now! |

We discussed happy faces for deceased creatchi but I think the consensus was that it would be creepy, heh. To mark creatchi that have made it to the full 24 days, there is a gold ribbon next to their names.
I think I'm going to back off from creatchi for a while, personally. All this planning and focus on continuing family lines has made me uncomfortable adopting anything but a gen 1, but I don't get as much enjoyment out of it as seeing what kind of cool creatchi I can get from a high gen egg.

I think you should play however you want to, there's no rule against it. I never pay any attention to storylines or family lines, it gets a bit too serious for me. |

That's about how I feel about it too, actually. I just don't want to feel guilty if I happen to de-rail someone's family line by adopting a creatchi and failing to mate it. I dunno.
I know I'll definitely be adopting in the future since I enjoy creatchi, just not right now. XD

Another PSA: First off, we need female grendelchis pretty badly - all of the available eggs are male, and even disregarding the survival of bloodlines anyone who might adopt one of those eggs (which includes myself in a few days) would probably like to breed them.
And another announcement: Despite the fact they have the generational lead by a wide margin, the nornchis are doing horribly right now. The high gens are down to a mere three eggs, and if those three eggs don't breed the nornchis are going back to generation one.
Normally I don't speak up about the nornchis due to not being a big fan of them and the fact that they've been doing too well for themselves up until this point, but I know there's people out there who do care, so for their sake I felt it was necessary to point this out.

I'll grab a lady grendelchi after my current nornchi if it's still needed! There'll shortly be another high gen nornchi egg too, careful breeding with gen 1's will turn those four into 8, a decent start on saving those endangered nornchis. I'm a little late to the game, has an 'extinction' like that ever happened?
Perhaps when people go to adopt an egg there could be a banner saying 'Creatures Caves needs [gender] [species]!' that changes as appropriate. |

I have a gen 1 female Grendelchi, she's still young but I'm more then willing to pair her with someone when she's old enough.
I may need someone to explain to me how to do these things though, since I'm still a little new to Creatchi's. |

@Nev: Something similar happened with the highest generation grendelchi bloodline around generation 14; there was only one individual who managed to breed. However, in that case it was only one section of the grendelchi bloodline; most of the older bloodlines would have survived even in the worst case scenario.
The current situation with the nornchis is much worse than that. There's only three eggs, and those three eggs are IT as far as high-generation nornchis go. The survival of all the old nornchi bloodlines is resting upon their shoulders, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those bloodlines have already died out.
@annika: Breeding basically entails constantly socializing with a desired mate of the same species and opposite gender (keeping in mind that you can't socialize with the same creatchi twice in a row) until they become friends (have a friendship value of five) when the creatchis are between ~7 and ~21 days old. In that case, a breed link will show up beneath the creatchi (about where the socialize option would be). Click that to send a breed request to the desired mate's owner, and if they accept your creatchis will be married and have an egg on the way. Afterwards, getting your creatchis up to a friendship value of 9 will let you have a second egg, which is the current limit.

The nornchis' immediate future is secure for the time being. With that out of the way, we're once again in desperate need of female grendelchis with two unpaired males and absolutely no single females who can still breed.
As a hint, I strongly suggest looking at the creatchi statistics before adopting a creatchi. That way we won't have situations like this when a bunch of people adopt creatchis of one gender when there's no single creatchis of the opposite gender for them to pair with. Granted, it's not completely foolproof, but in general it gives a good idea.

Even further, if you're really unsure what gender and species to choose, you can do as usually do. How I pick my creatchis is typically this:
1. As Grendel Man says, look at the creatchi statistics.
2. Tally up the mated and/or old males and females of each species by looking through the general creatchi listing. (For this part my personal cut-off point for age is 14 days because of how long it takes for them to get to breeding age. But your's could be different.)
3. Do a bit of math! By gender and species subtract the tallied number of unavailable creatchis from the number of living creatchis. The result should be an approximation of potential mates, as incubating eggs are not counted in the "Living Creatchi" statistic.
4. If there are eggs incubating, take note of the gender and species and add them in.
One should now have a more accurate availibility count.
Its not perfect by far, as sometimes creatchis of specific genders die young from unintended neglect (Usually 1st generations which is normal.), but it has worked out pretty well.
From the depths of Deep Lurkspace I emerge... And suddenly can't remember what it is I came up for. |

Right, got a female grendelchi egg! Who needs a partner? Not a single higher gen grendelchi egg. How have we ended up with such an unequal distribution of genders in the high gen eggs? |

Hello everyone!!!
I want you to help me in one subject.
As many of you know, it is entertaining to see which of the three species of creatchis gets to a higher generation number. Despite this, the ettinchis are suffering a problem; of the original ones, only four are alive and 1 is in egg form. However, as of writing, Zap is already senile, so he can't breed any more, which brings the number down.
My idea was to introduce some 1st gens to the tree, to help the members up.
Note, please, I'm not doing this because of my personal family tree. I am doing this because I found fascinating the way the ettinchi family tree was. It was amazing to see that even a 1st gen ettinchi that didn't had anything to do with another one, they eventually had mutual descendants.
So please, I ask for your help. I don't even mind adopting myself some 1st gens. However, right now I am in a middle of a rp with Kezune, so sorry, but I will start in the next generation, and we will make sure that Izzy and John have children.
If you wish to see the family tree, it's here. I know, it is a bit messy, but you can see the picture
Thank you all for your attention

Ghost norn, the family tree is fascinating! Loved tracking down my ettinchi and seeing how many generations have gone already since then. Do similar trees exist for grendelchis and nornchis? |

My Tiamat still needs a mate. While there are options, they're all unappealing for one reason or the other (Aqua is an extremely dominant color that's very likely to beat out Dusk's nice purple coloration if they breed, she and Chicago aren't likely to produce interesting babies, and Wildfire is her brother).

I know I post about this way too much, but I'm going to post about it again anyway. I really care about the grendelchis and don't want them to go through a near-extinction event (or an outright extinction event for that matter, though I wouldn't wish that on any of the three species).
We need female grendelchis again. Not just for lisha's currently unhatched male, but for all the currently unhatched male eggs as well. Sadly, those males are all the high-gen grendelchi eggs right now, so females are going to have to be first gens.
While I'm here, I'd like to point out that first gens are actually pretty vital in keeping bloodlines going. Inbreeding doesn't have any biological consequences for creatchis (or actual creatures for that matter; aren't haploid genetics great?), but it does mean that the more related creatchis that marry each other the narrower the bloodline gets and the more likely it is that it'll come crashing down in the future. If one brings in first gens, the family tree will spread out and make the bloodline a bit sturdier overall. This goes for any creatchi species, not just the grendelchis.
