Ylukyun seems to have a better idea of how this works than I do, so anything but blue then? Thank you :D

I think green might be risky, and I remember someone saying orange was dominant.

Generally speaking, first-gen colors are all right (though as mentioned blue + purple has a high chance of producing black or white; it's possible this might be true of mating a secondary color with one of its component primary colors).

After that it's a crapshoot; orange and aqua seem to be the most dominant secondary colors.

Now that pink ettinchis are back in the pool, Peach Cobbler could use a primary-color mate to keep them that way!

Something seems to have gone wrong with the breeding and egg laying processes, Cain and Suzy are expecting their second egg... except they've only socialised six times all up and I received the 'breeding request accepted' message without having sent the second request. Also, a grendelchi named Lenka just laid an egg, despite being dead for almost a year.

What you just saw in the case of Lenka:
Unaccepted breeding requests do not have an expiration date as long as they remain in the inbox of either user. Either one of them could have sent a breeding request before their respective grendelchis died and the recipient could have just recently clicked "accept" to see what would happen. This leads to the occasional postmortem egg. Which normally occurs when the creatchi dies while pregnant. So its not really as random of an issue as you may think.

Your other "issue" is actually not really an issue. You're paired with a veteran tinkerer. [nlaugh]

When you click on your creatchi, there's an inventory on top. Use a scoop to remove the poop, food for hunger and so on

I had an idea recently that I want to put out there. I'm sure others have thought of this as well, but it would be awesome if we had a "Creatchi hotel" feature. If a user is going on vacation or taking a personal hiatus, they could check their creatchi into the hotel for a set period of days. During their stay, the user cannot interact with them, but their health/hunger/etc. will not deteriorate.

What do you guys think about this? Developers, how easy/hard would it be to integrate a feature like this into the existing game?

I don't think I've seen anyone suggest it but I think it would be a neat feature to have. I do have a concern with it though. If a creatchi is effectively put into stasis, then that means that no other creatchis would be able to socialize with it because that need would never degrade.
However, an Autocare feature might be a better idea because it will allow creatchis to socialize; which is necessary for the breeding aspect of the game. The duration of the Autocare feature could be based on how much supplies are in the creatchi's inventory; but since different items have different values that might get a little complicated. So I'm not sure how easy either one of the two would be to accomplish. I think only Rascii would know for sure since he's the only one behind the coding aspect of it.

Perhaps there could be a way to loan them to other players during your time away? That would stop people from throwing on auto care and stop caring for their Creatchis themselves.

Yes, I can see the feature could get abused if someone were so inclined. At this point I don't think that this small subsection of community is chock full of people who would do that. But, initially, that was the reason why I said it could be limited by the creatchi's personal supply level. Obviously gifting to that creatchi would have to be disabled, and if there's any increase to the creatchi's supplies while the feature is active it gets automatically turned off. If its possible to put on a cooldown, that could help deter the unwanted behavior.

There could be a hard time limit on it like the Do Not Disturb signs instead. Or if not able to be set manually, automatically at some level of degradation of let's say the hunger+fun bars since those seem to be the most important. It would have to be both of those bars at the same time, not just one. The feature shouldn't touch the social bar in any way or do anything about requests for socialization and breeding.

Not to be the master of the obvious here, but any feature that we could come up with on the subject of short-notice vacations and real world emergencies has potential to be abused. I just don't think that we have enough people to worry about doing that.

Dragoler, that sounds like a good way of doing it! Handing it off to another member for safekeeping for a preset number of days. We could call it "creatchi-sitting" [nlaugh]

Mioonktoo, I agree that if we have a hotel feature there should be a hard time limit like with the DND signs. Otherwise we could have hotel-locked creatchis that just never come out, and I'd bet most people would opt for this option eventually, which would suck all the fun out of actually caring for your creatchi. Maybe there could be a mechanic whereby users have to wait one month between hotel stays, with each hotel stay being a maximum of two weeks.... or something like that. [ngrin] Also, they definitely should be able to socialize while in the hotel. Wouldn't want to subject our poor babies to solitary confinement lol

On that last note, yes, any feature can be abused but like you said I don't think our community is at huge risk of that - and if it does happen, well... we have good moderators [nlaugh]

Yup, its now confirmed that the cheese and teddies do refill their respective bars completely. So that gives the apples, balls and medicine being +1, the carrots and duckies being +2, and the teddies, cheese, and elixirs being full bars. However, besides always starting out with 1 elixir, I'm not sure of the exact amounts that we are given in inventory of the other items for each creatchi. The care guide says 3 each but there might have been a change in that respect since that was updated last and my google-fu has turned up nothing. That could be still accurate but since we don't see our inventories until our creatchis hatch it can be hard telling if we've been active and accumulating items while they're incubating. I'd appreciate confirmation on the starting numbers there.

But considering that we've been averaging barely two pages of creatchis, it very well likely would be way easier for Rascii to lower the number of people required to rescue a dying creatchi than it is to implement a vacation/automatic emergency care feature. The creatchi feature used to average about 3-4 pages of creatchis with curious/active caregivers but interest (and other obvious factors like life outside the community) has made the population lower a lot over time. There would be a lot of balance tweaking involved with what I suggested prior and that probably isn't worth the work for the approximately 20-25 people playing the site feature at any given time. There's probably even less people consistently visiting the site to check in on their creatchi too to make sure that they don't perish before their time.

So, lowering the helper requirement may help out more but it raises the question: Is there a cap on how many help prompts are fulfilled before the creatchi is left to die?

I can't find any data pertaining to that, but I'm not keen on the idea of volunteering to run another experiment to find out. I've raised 76 creatchis to senility so far and I don't want to break that streak just to get that answer. Especially with as few people as we have left here who consistently check in to look after their creatchi and see what's new on site. And I happen to like being able to see what I'm hatching so that I can help bolster old bloodlines and begin new ones. I don't see finding the answer to that happening unless I can get about 10 people voluntarily dedicated to click that help button per prompt cycle.

If Rascii doesn't speak first to answer that question, that is. [nlaugh]

This might seem like an obvious thing but...how do you breed two creatchis? Like, I don't see the option, even with adult creatchis. Does it just not work on mobile?

You need to get the two creatchis' friendship levels up to 5 (when it says they're "friends" in the Creatchi's friend lists). Then the breed option will appear, assuming both creatchis involved are adolescent or adult.

If you get the creatchis' friendship level up to 9 after the first breeding, you'll be able to breed them a second time.

Do keep in mind you'll need to socialize with another creatchi in between socializing with your creatchi's chosen mate; you can't socialize with the same creatchi twice in a row.

Anyone got (or willing to adopt) a young female Grendelchi to be a mate for my male? He's still very young so there's time.
