General Forum The Absences Topic   1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | ... | 8 | 9 Tea Queen Laura    Manager     3/24/2010 Welcome to the Absences Topic! As we?ve all discussed, this is where you can alert everyone of your absence from the forums. So, if you're going on holiday, going away for a week or more, or if you're going away for an indefinite amount of time and you want to let your friends here know, this is the topic for you! You can also use this topic to announce that you're back when you return, if you wish. The other purpose of this topic is to help keep the forum tidy and de-cluttered from all these "I'm Back!" topics, so we?ll see how this all works out. Just a few guidelines, so that we're all clear about how to use this topic: 1) Please don't use this topic excessively. For example, there's no need to announce your absence if you're only going to be away for a few hours, or for just a couple of days, or if you?re just going to get a sandwich or something. Any posts like this will be deleted by the moderators. Furthermore, if you think there's a likelihood that you may still be active during the time then please don't post in here; help keep this topic clear for real absences. 2) It will be easier to keep track of who is away, and who has returned, if this topic isn't littered with general chit-chat. Please feel free to create a new topic though, if you've come back and you want to tell us what you got up to! 3) Posts saying that you're leaving the CC can be left here too. However, please be sure that you really do want to leave before you post here. Give it some thought, and you may find that you'll start to feel differently. In the past, many people have announced that they're leaving the community, going out in a blaze of glory of epic proportions! ... Only to return again with a change of heart a week or so later. Frankly, this will only make you look foolish. (I guess I need to add the Thai flag to the countries list ) If anyone has been there before and has any suggestions/tips, please let me know! Also, I should still be able to get online a decent amount, so it won't technically be an "absence". Just thought this would be an appropriate place to let everyone know. - Rascii   scoota94   4/24/2010 Just to say that, at the moment I am on study leave, and due to the fact that I am going into 5th year and doing very important studies I won't have much time for creatures or the community. This isn't really an absence. Just to say I won't be online that much any more. All my projects (except fragile norns) are cancelled. My doctor site is also cancelled... Long story short, I'm really sorry for vanishing without warning, I had to buy myself a new computer and the past couple of months of uni have been unbelievably intense. It only happened once, though, and I know how this thing works... Hopefully all will be well! I'll also be out of town this weekend and for part of next week, but I wanted to let everyone know that I'm still around and planning on updating Discover Albia when I get some free time. I try to help the CC through other methods now.   Norniff   7/15/2010 I'm back! This thread was made after I left, so for the record I've been gone for a bit over six months. I lost my Creatures Exodus disk four months ago, so that didn't help at all. I hope to have a new disk in by the 19th so fingers crossed it works out. I'm happy to be back in the CC and I really hope somebody remembers me(doubt it). It is making me sick and before I do something stupid in my anger I decided to go away and return once Creatures @ Seeyou7.net is free again. EDIT: I think I was a lil unclear. This is between Gryph and Sparkleblue, all this rubbish about people leaving or uniting for a common cause and whatever is causing more damage to the CC than the original issue. Seriously peeps. If you're somehow blinded with rage and fury over this, it's probably for the best to take a short break from the CC. But don't dramatize it, it just makes things worse for everyone. Vampess's work is up there. Moe's work is up there. My work is up there. I agree that going "on strike" and taking web sites down is not the correct response in this situation, but this is hardly a private altercation between two people that's getting thrown around here. It's probably all over the CC because it involves several different people in the CC. Not just Sparkleblue.   AquaShee   8/2/2010 Well, then it is between Gryph and the breed owners. The ones that mind having their breeds hosted elsewhere, of course. The only correct response is ignoring it. Writing Gryph a nice letter, banning her from forums or closing down your own site is just giving her what she wants: Attention. In fact, any breed owner who takes down their own site is just giving Gryph's site more traffic from people who still want those breeds. Smart move. This is all I want to see about it in this topic, though. This topic is for absences only, and I hereby announce the absence of the subject of Gryph vs. the World. Any further discussion may happen in a thread in the General forum, if you feel like giving Gryph more of her precious attention.
