| type | Genetics Only | | author | Riakodoadm | Underwhelming, but gotta get this started somehow.
This pack contains 3 breeds; the light and fluffy Cloud Norns, the equally poofy Cloud Ettins, and the dependant (troublesome) Gerbil Norns. More detailed info can be found in the enclosed text file. |

| type | Genetics Only | | author | Riakodoadm | | updated | 8/30/2014 | Suddenly, genetic breeds. ![[nalien] [nalien]](/images/smilies/emot_alien.gif)
The brightly-colored Spearmint Norn is more or less your average CFE norn, with a somewhat peaceful temperament; it doesn't really start feeling anger until it's grown up a bit. The tint-less Grey Spearmint Norn is... Another story. While not openly hostile, it does have some very questionable (or broken!) instincts, and might even come with an irrational phobia.mBetween them, they use Treehugger, Bengal, Hardman, Bengal des Neiges and Magma sprites (and I hope to heck it works). |

I am in no way responsible for the development of either of these sets of updates - all I've done was combine them together.
Unlike my previous release, this one comes in only one flavor - CFE with all of the Gizmo changes. Mutations can still occur to the life genes in this version but the chances are greatly reduced. If you would like more information on either the CFE or Gizmo edits, please read up on the pages I've linked below.
You will find future updates to this pack and the old version available on the website link to the right.

| slot | Grendel-Z | | type | Genetics + Sprites | | author | Lord Zasz | "Long ago, the Shee had a little experiment to make a better breed of norn, one that would be strong, brave, and cool looking; this is the result."
The Crimson Norn breed is based on the Expressive Bruin genome, with sprites based on the Bruin and Bengal breeds. Although they look fearsome, they are actually just as friendly as any other breed. |

| type | Genetics Only | | author | evolnemesis | | updated | 8/23/2015 | These Norns are part of an ongoing project to improve the C3 Genomes and to fix many of their problems, such as incomplete chemical reactions and unused neurons, stimuli, and words. The goal is to put in everything that was missing from previous games and more, to allow them to live up to the full potential of the C3 game engine and their much more sophisticated brains and biochemistry.
See the project thread for details and to leave feedback.
New features for testing:
- Completed Pyruvate - Lactate Cycle (fixed muscle death from muscle toxin/lactate, slightly better resilience to suffocation)
- Drowning Response (creatures exhibit fear and will attempt to avoid drowning by backing out if they walked into the situation)
- Inhibin used to regulate Testosterone Production in males (might need tweaks, testing and research is required) |

| slot | Grendel-0 | | type | Genetics + Sprites | | author | Creature Labs | | updated | 7/1/2014 | The Creatures 1 Grendel was originally included with the base game, occupying Grendel slot 0. They feature green coloring, red eyes, and sharp teeth. Contrary to popular belief and some rumors, C1 Grendels are not genetically engineered to be violent. Make sure to install the Grendel Settings to allow Grendels to interact positively with those around them. They may look scary, but they're typically quite nice!
A complete version of the original C1 Grendel with updated body data and sprites can be found at Discover Albia. This also includes female Grendels. |

| type | Genetics Only | | author | Nightrunner | | updated | 10/17/2016 | The Osiris Norns were one of the first genetic C3 breeds. It was the first kind of 'expressive' Norn genome, predating Creatures Labs' own expressive genome. They are capable Ettin and Grendel hunters, and are used to help control overpopulation. Due to the nasty habit they had of killing Ettins for no reason, the download was taken down.
An offshoot of Project Osiris are the Set Norns. |
 |
| type | Genetics Only | | author | Nightrunner | | updated | 10/17/2016 | The Set Norns were an early C3 genetic breed, created by Nightrunner. They are precursors of the Osiris Norns, the first 'expressive' Norn genome, which even pre-date Creatures Labs' own expressive genome.
In appearance they are a cross of Norn, Ettin and Grendel. They are capable Ettin and Grendel hunters, but are also equally aggressive against other Norns. However, to keep them out of your gene pool they can not breed, and are fastagers, so you would not want to breed them. They were once available from the Osiris Project website, now long defunct. The Set Norns are listed in the Museum of Lost Breeds at Creatures Unlimited. |
