Trell "Holy crap in a casket!"   Kimino394   3/8/2015 Hello to all. I played Creatures 3 back when I was a few years younger, but I gave up fairly soon due to my norns always dieing out. I didn't ever understand.. Anything. I also wasn't interested in Ai in the slightest, so I thought it was a strategy game which I was bad at, hah. Anyway, after reading about a review for it on a forum I frequented, I decided to give it another shot. Having found my old Cd, I've reinstalled it and tested to see if it works. It does. So now I'm installing docking station and once it's all set up, I'm going to start playing again. I may read some tutorials, I may not. What I'd LIKE to do is make a thread where I can post about what's going on in my world, or find a thread here on the forums where I can already do that. Sorry for all that. I like to talk. If you'd like to start a new topic to keep us up-to-date with the goings on in your world, then please feel free!   Siinamon   3/9/2015 Hello Kimino and welcome to the Caves!   Hael   3/11/2015  1 Hi, I've been downloading some great resources from here for a while but I wanted to get more involved in the community (or what's left of it at this late stage). I started playing Creatures when it first came out and my whole family sort of obsessed over it for a while. I think we went on to C2 but I can't recall. I don't think we ever got to C3/DS. Going back and playing each game I've found C3/DS to be the most user friendly to new players and to be the most stable. However I've found that the norns in C2, particularly the ones I engineered personally, are what I'm most attached to. I can have 50 or 60 norns going on at once in C3. And aside from making sure they're healthy and breeding I mostly ignore them. But in C2 whenever I see one of their little shocked or sad expressions it almost breaks my heart and I have to help them right away. Unfortunately C2 for me is really buggy and crashes a lot often without saving the game so I've been looking into converting my race for C3 since I know they already have a C2toDS metaroom. But I haven't found any resources on how to do it if it is indeed possible. These two images really capture how deeply I feel the norn's emotions.   the1whoscreams   3/11/2015 Hey,Hael! I mostly just thought "I like purple" when making the breed, a long with wanting some unique things to spot like the tail and arms which I got from different downloaded breeds. I'm still amazed at how well they turned out visually. The genetics were much more complicated. I went from "not breeding fast enough" to "breeding way too quickly." I also really wanted them to do more with family members using the parent and child pheremones but I haven't noticed any difference there. They are still sometimes born with so much hunger that they quickly pass out. Or they pass out without any indication of what the problem is. So I wouldn't be comfortable actually distributing them as a breed (plus the fact that I copied the sprites from other breeds and didn't read all the readmes to see if it was allowed).   Mtorolite   3/17/2015 i'm a nerd and a literal rock that spends way too much of my life troubleshooting old pc games and being 100% homogenized milk hi I recalled playing this series as a wee child but never got into the community or modding at all. I mostly just got angry that ugly rude grendels kept killing my pretty pets. I'm Rachel and I can't recall how many times I've floated in and out of the Creatures community. If any of you by chance remember an eleven-fourteen year old kid on the Gameware forums going by LunarNorn back in the day, that was me. Most likely you don't but I'll be thrilled if anyone does!! I've been playing Creatures since I was a preschooler. That is how I learned what 'deceased' meant at like, three or four years old lol. Though I've never played Creatures 2 for more than five minutes (I got the GOG version years ago but my lord, it's noisy @_@) I've sunk countless hours into C1 and C3/DS. Aside from Creatures I'm a 21 year old musician/author from the very outer edge of Melbourne, Australia. At the time, I thought myself a bit of an expert. However, I was only 13, and now I realise that really, I was just sort-of stumbling my way along. I miss playing Creatures, and was upset when a few years ago, I bought a CD which turned out to be incompatible with my operating system. But I recently purchased Creatures 1 & 2 from GOG, have installed C1 and am enjoying it greatly! It's taking some time to get back into the swing of things and re-learn all the stuff I used to know (as well as the stuff I thought I understood but didn't!), so I'm just kinda taking it easy, playing at my own pace and figuring things out as I go along. (I've been keeping a little blog for my norns at http://nornish.tumblr.com/ - be warned there is a little mild swearing, but nothing abusive, it is all meant to be light hearted.) I'm so excited to see that people are still playing and talking about Creatures!
