Concept art of the norns from Creatures Online.

Does seeing this image help reinforce the 'depth' of the biology of the game? What do you think?

Judging by the ear placement, I'd say it's not a face-on view.

The hip-bone seems rather uneven on the opposite side.

Norns probably have something akin to a cloaca, like birds and many reptiles, fish, and amphibians, soooo....

(At least, unlike turtles, they cannot also breath through it.)

Reminds me of those guys or the good ol' fashioned Digimon V-Pets of which I still have one lying around, unfortunately with a broken display. (or Tamagotchis, but those are boring and have no character)

I've got a feeling they might be adding number two for the amusement factor it might have for younger kids when they see a pile of comic poop lying around.

Note that this is concept art for Creatures Online, so we're not sure of the entire digestive system at this point.

My theory is that the creators of the previous Creatures games wanted to simulate a full digestive tract, complete with byproducts and waste. Rather than creating two separate systems (which may have been too complex) they opted for a liquid waste system. I also think the chemical names involved are a little more appropriate... "Urea" isn't a very offensive chemical name, but I have a feeling they would have run into some fairly gross imagery with chemicals in the other system!

Finally, I think players can imagine liquid waste just disappearing into the world. Solid matter, though, might require some cleanup... Which I don't think anyone wants! Ha ha!

I just don't get why Norns have genes that make them pee. Why don't they have one for an invisible "number two"?

This looks really cool! :D

=/ I have 3 dogs, a cat, and a fish. The thing I like about my creatures is no said bodily functions I will clean up...

I concur. I don't want to have to clean up a virtual number 2, thanks. Skeleton looks good though!

I hope they don't poop. :C
