I wasn't going to post this, but then I thought, "Heh, why not!"
Last night I was looking at my dusty bookselves. On them I saw all the books that I want to read, but haven't bothered to yet, and also the books that I haven't read for years. Louis de Bernières's Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Terry Pratchett's The Colour of Magic, George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, Charles Dickens's David Copperfield... That's when I decided to give myself a goal. I resolved to read more books (in particular, the classics!) in 2011.
But I disgress. Have you set yourself any goals for 2011? Even if it's something as simple as reading more, like mine, please feel free to share. |

I'm not really the sort to make a resolution as such, I prefer to address problems just as I see them. But I suppose the goals I am carrying over to the new year are:
- Average a First for the year at University.
- Go running twice a week
- Eat More (this might seem a little odd alongside the previous resolution. But I'm not really trying to lose weight, my problem right now is that I'm lazy enough to skip exercising and eating regularly)
- Cook for my housemates more often
- Read for pleasure less (it pains me to say it, but it just takes up too much time right now. I'm already reading 3 books a week plus essays for my course)

Well, I really haven't set any goals yet. Oh, yeah, well there's one, so far anyway, I have to get c2 working on windows 7 starter. I still can't do it though. |

Welcome to the forums, Nornynorn. You might want to consider investing in GOG.com's The Albian Years (C1 & C2 compilation). It's compatible with Windows 7 and has been reported to run just fine.
And Lucy, those are very good goals. I particularly approve of the 'Eat More' one - order more Graze Nibbleboxes!
Does anyone else fancy sharing any goals they have? As far as mine to read more goes, so far I've read... five pages of 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin'. I'm doing well. |

Yeah, but about the Albian years I got a free trial and it didn't work. =-(
But thats really the only goal for now. |

The link I gave you isn't a free trial; the GOG.com version of The Albian Years was especially designed so it would work on the latest versions of Windows, like Windows 7. It costs $9.99 to download, but from my experience it's money well spent. Maybe you could ask your parents for it for your upcoming birthday, or something.
I'm not sure how likely it is that you'll get any other copy of Creatures 2 to work on Windows 7. Most people gave up trying and just bought the GOG.com version.
Back on topic: does anyone else want to share their goals? |

Umm...*wanders in* I'm hoping I really can get a job this year! I'm going to feel really foolish if I turn 20, which is this month, and still have no work experience.
I'm also trying to get better with drawing and try for more detailed pictures.

The eBay version is very unlikely to work on Windows Vista or Windows 7.
The GoodOldGames.com version of the Albian Years is a new release that has been programmed to work on newer computers, you can't buy it on eBay or in stores.
