Miserable Grendels C3DS Grendel Jessica | 11/6/2013 | 3 | Misery, misery! This pack includes 15 Grendels. Just remember that the "miserable" part mainly comes from a mutation, and that these Grendels have quite a number of quirks after 100+ generations.
KittyTikara says: "These miserable looking Grendels are actually descended from a strange mixture of Banshee, Colortrue Grendels, and a few W-Runner Grendels, though the W-Runner genes have likely died out. The miserable face comes from around the 30th generation, and has been carried through the generations since they've survived a heavily infected Norn Garden, and a nearly foodless Chione. So they have a few "quirks" that I'll let you find out. All I'll tell you is that they only have three pigment genes, they've almost lost their hunger for starch, and that I'm surprised they have made it this long.
They require the Banshee and the Jungle Sprites to look correct, and they should be kept away from stingers, as they are deadly to them. They also aren't the easiest to breed with other Creatures, and cross-breeds might be sliders, have missing organs, or be just plain stupid. Feel free to cross-breed them, just be careful if you do!"

A rather belated observation about these guys: interestingly, pain makes them not look miserable. The reason being is that their facial expression gene for pain is set to display that expression when pain is -1, when it's 1 in most normal creatures. I don't know if any other emotions could knock them out of the frowny face, though.

Couldn't help myself I made a Miserable Grendel haiku (atleast I hope it's a haiku:
With a sad face it
Stares at you with puppy eyes
Miserable face

Haha, that Grendel throwing his arms up in the air says it all! I'll have to think up some appropriate names for them. Scrooge, Miserly, Grumpy, Grinch, Groucho...
