Roamer C3DS Data | 12/20/2006 | 10 | Reposting this here because I don't think Emmental's site is still up either.
Roamer (1.0)
This robotic spider-rock wanders around the world, occasionally
releasing sprays as needed.
If any bacteria are nearby then an anti-bacterial spray is released,
and if any creatures are nearby then either a curing spray or a
"feel-good" spray is released.
The pink anti-bacterial spray kills any bacteria that the spray clouds
touch.
The yellow curing spray reduces disease-related chemicals of any
creatures the clouds touch, such as Glycotoxin and Histamines.
The bluey-white "feel-good" spray reduces things such as injury and
loneliness of any creatures the clouds touch.
The Roamer itself can also be played with as desired.
After being in a room for a while the Roamer will teleport to another
location somewhere in the world.

Anyone still use this? I'm tempted to try it, but if it's too buggy or never seems to make a difference, I think I'll pass. It sounds super useful as I just had some feral runs collapse from Antigen 6 that I didn't catch in time.

The autokill is a feature in C3/DS. It solves minor scripting errors in objects, for example invalid targets and that kinda stuff.
When an object causes a problem like that, it's simply removed without prompting any error messages or something.
You can toggle it by hitting Ctrl + Shift + W to open the wolf control window (it also handles fast forward), then hit Ctrl + Shift + A to toggle autokill on or off, then finally hit Ctrl + Shift + W to close it again.

what exactly is autokill?
|
|
|
yeah, in my main world i didn't see them most of the time because they were probably warping to rooms i didn't use anymore.
|
|
|
I've seen them show up in the DS title screen room before.

I have two roaming around in one world. Have you checked absolutely everywhere? They can teleport to every possible area as far as I can tell, and sometimes this means I don't see them for a long, long time. But like Ylukyun said, maybe turn autokill off for a bit after adding one to your world to see if an error message pops up at some point. Good luck!

It could be getting autokilled.

I was wondering why I had so many bacteria around my world when I realized I hadn't reinstalled this agent. It's a useful little agent and has helped keep my worlds cleaner for years.

This is quite a neat little guy! He fit in with my technological world, but the roamer is awesome for keeping worlds healthy. Not a bad idea for those who don't appreciate the random bacteria, particularly for wolfling runs with small populations.
I highly recommend trying this out! It actually seems to work in many different environments: Has a strange mechanical feeling to it, but I could also see this as a silver critter crawling around in some vegetation.
