Peryite sets up a chair in a convenient pond near Labyrinthia's grave, and starts fishing. He figures if he's going to die soon, he might as well have a good last meal. He catches and eats his favorite fish. Yawning, he takes a nap under a tree, satisfied with life.

Gertie places flowers on her mums grave
R.I.P Gertie misses you.

Peryite places a few flowers on Labutinithia, smiling sadly at the memories swirling around his head.

In the night, Labyrinthia took her last breath, surrounded by her loving spouse and daughter. Her gift gently fell from her hand in the end, likely as a final gesture that Labyrinthia wanted Gertie to take it for her own luck.
{Rest in peace, Labyrinthia. Can't believe her life is over... I just remember adopting her. Sad to see her go, but I'm sure she'll live on in some way!)

Gertie sits beside them looking thoughtfully "I will always be with you, no matter how far away." she says smiling a tiny bit.

Peryite hugs his wife, and daughter gently. He knows Labyrinthia's time is almost up, He tries saying something but all that comes out is a grunt. So he lays beside her, falling asleep despite trying not to.

Gertie hugs her mum "And I'll always be yours mama" she says holding her hand holding back tears "Always..."

Labyrinthia quickly turns away from her joyful daughter to hide the stirring of tears in her eyes. The world seems to be swimming, but she fights them off. Looking back, she reaches out for the token and hugs Gertie. All she manages to choke out is, "Thank you..." before trailing off.
She looks at her daughter, proud of the friendly little Grendelchi she has become. "I must rest," she suddenly says. "Gertie, I think you know what sort of rest this is. I might... Never open my eyes again." She takes her daughter's hand in hers. "Whatever happens, I will always be in your heart."
She lays down, while her eyelids start to droop. Labyrinthia is the picture of peacefulness, and although her old body looks weak, her hand fiercely holds onto Gertie's token. And life.

Gertie looks troubled she then perks up, and grabs a little token "This is my lucky coin, I wanted to give it to you, I know it's not much but, I want you to have it" she says beaming in soul delight.

Behind the smile she shares with her daughter, Labyrinthia's eyes hold a silent sadness. She can feel her biological clock ticking away, although she's often ignored her aging as much as possible.
"I'll always be around," she replies mysteriously. Not wanting to approach the subject any further, she lovingly pats Gertie on the head. If these are her last hours, Labyrinthia would rather spend them in happiness with her daughter.
