Geats via Ghosthande on 10/13/2013 | 31 votes Would you be interested in seeing another Geat breed (similar to Gaius)?

But my point is that the Garden Box is one way to lessen the impact of the Wasteland Glitch. Critter patch plants are even possible, and I think there's the potential to eventually create some sort of working ecological system if the Garden Box agents get expanded.
Not ideal, I know! Just another purpose for the Garden Box that dawned on me recently. But yeah... The aquatic element does seem like gilled Geats would never be possible.

It's not random... it occurs specifically when a geat looks at another geat. You can have as many as you like, as long as they never see each other.

The wasteland glitch has nothing to do with actual plant or fruit agents.
It refers to the fact that any room (not metaroom, I mean a room cell as seen in the editor or debug map) which is occupied by geats for a while may randomly turn from whatever it used to be into air, making it infertile for most plants.
This even affects watery areas, so gilled geats are a pretty bad idea.

The Creatures Wiki has a great overview of Geats located here. Hope that answers your question, Mlohse!

What are geats?

Does the Wasteland Glitch affect Garden Box agents? I'm pretty sure that patch plants are OK even with that glitch... Or I could be totally wrong! But if so, then maybe the Garden Box could be expanded to include converted Gaius objects and/or more technologically-themed plants/decorations?
Just a thought! Feel free to ignore if I'm completely wrong. I do know how this ruins other environments, but it seems like there could be a sort of compromise if the Garden Box got more downloads.

Geats are fine and all, but personally I find that the Wasteland Glitch is a complete deal-breaker and removes much of the enjoyment from them (at least for C3/DS).

Definitely for me! I know they're not as cute and cuddly as most breeds that I personally like, but they're a nice break from the usual. Reminds me that I need to get back to working on the genome for the Colortrue Gaius!
