I was running a wolfling run when I noticed that quite a few of the older eggs weren't hatching, just the newer ones. So I rigged an egg finder to a timer, and used Ghosthande's amazing portable incubator (the fireplace) to hatch them. Another random use for that fireplace is to create your own Norn, Ettin, or Grendel home. Just put a few Comfort Candles near it and you have your own incubating Creature home.

Basically what happens is the egg finder picks up all of the eggs and sorts them by when they were laid, from oldest to newest. Since the newest ones are in the water and unable to hatch, the older ones get to hatch. The fireplace is there to make sure the eggs around it hatch first. You might have to move it, depending on how many eggs there are. Also this won't work at all if you have the patch that lets eggs hatch underwater.
