 | Two generations of Norns; Mr. Cheese meets Blueberry! |
 | Mr. Cheese drops in for a traditional English cuppa! Thank you, Fishing Cactus. |
 | Work in progress of this. I wanted to do more tonight but I ended up having to go to bed earlier than I wanted, so here's this for now. |
 | Album artwork for my CCSF 2012 Creatures-themed EP, Creatures Beats!, created by SpringRain! |
 | I forgot that I fixed up that previous Treehugger Norn drawing. I got a little annoyed with this picture, so here she is as a messy sketch. I fixed her face up, at least! |
 | Resubmitting this one more time after giving it a good resize. It's a Treehugger norn, they're very fun to draw.
It's a little messy too, but I'll draw some better stuff soon! |
 | Part two of my aquatic ideas, the Grendels! Though these are mainly goldfish hybrids, goldfish can be mean and ornery little things too. I would have gotten them posted yesterday but the sandman had managed to get around that nasty insomnia fairy and I was out cold right after my comment on Shockleen's cute little fuzzball. xD
Just like the other submission, here's what my chicken scratch reads:
Down the left margin are the breed names. From the top breed to the bottom these are "Ryukin," "Lionhead," and "Eggfish." That weird little symbol near the top right corner indicates where an arm can be. Near the top-middle of the page is a rather simple key to remind me what was what. The top two are the ink which were used to show the original lines of the body (dark blue/indigo) and the new changes (black). The three below them were for an example in skin/scale pattern. The "empty" square is the base color while orange and the blue are just stand-ins for whatever is decided on later. I messed up the view labeling, originally, the left side is the "Back" view and the right side is the side view.
The Ryukin - This perhaps may be the easiest because all it would take is the shortening of the body, a slight potbelly, and a stubby down-turned tail base. The tail could move or it could be static. I may have gotten the term wrong like I'm prone to do, but a common trait in this breed of fish is a "double tail" and some are fused together at the top. The fin down near the tail could take place of the thigh section of the creature sprite while the shin is "invisible." This could aid greatly in the illusion that the creature is swimming instead of leaving that fin statically attached to the body. (Not to mention giving the SERU agent more to work with in the creation of wacky-looking creatures! Finned hover-creatures anyone? ) The orange and blue is an example of a mild calico pattern that can be found in the fish itself.
The Lionhead - One of the funniest goldfish I've ever seen and may be one of the creepiest. (Personal mileage pending on the creep factor. I've always found the Bubble-Eyes the most disturbing because of the large fluid sacks beneath their eyes that gives the breed its name.) The tail is much like the Ryukin above, but instead of joined they are split to resemble two tails instead of one. The finnage is short and rounded and their squat, egg-like, body lacks a dorsal fin. They may or may not have arms. What gives the Lionhead its name is the sacks of fluid that in some specimens looks like the fish is having an adverse reaction to bee stings. Between the back and side views is an example Grendel head with this trait with the harmless-seeming growths taken to the extreme. This does exist in many Lionhead specimens and is said to be desired in a show-winner.
The Eggfish - Like the Lionhead, sans extreme fluid sac growth and a more egglike body that gives the fish its name. The tail fin can be joined along the top in a "Veil Tail," rounded and split, or deeply forked and overlapping in the rare "Phoenix Tail." These are often found in a solid color, white or red/orange being very common. On paper the arms could most likely be found down low and close to the neck, but may be omitted altogether. |
 | Here's a norn design I've been working on today. This might just be my own personal norn but I was thinking about perhaps making it into a breed, with this being the female version of it. I'm not sure if I feel like actually developing it into something for Creatures -- I'm lacking the energy to do so at the moment -- but I'll see what I can do.
Well, I hope you like it!
(Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm really bad with names so I apologize for my lack of creative titles. Suggestions regarding breed names would be nice!) |
 | A sloppy rough draft of three possible breeds in the closest medium I had available. Obviously, I wasn't particularly thinking of my color choices in ink. I just grabbed a pen, checked to see if it worked, and went from there. (We have lots and lots of pens.) The dark blue is a sort of reference to the original shape and the brighter colors the changes to it. That black blotch off to the side is covering some rather disturbing fails at matching heads. Seriously, they came out really creepy and I don't want to give anyone here nightmares with them. <.<
I'm also not sure of the size limit when it comes to picture posting, so this is not the original size. It is actually much bigger!
These might not even be Ettins if I ever get around to them. They hit me while I was in the process of modeling an Ettin body in Blender. The top two are definitely aquatic breeds while the second could be either amphibious or strictly aquatic. In case my chicken scratch is unreadable:
The top is "Pearlscale", named after the kind of goldfish it was an attempt at a resemblance to. Because of their fatness I was thinking that maybe that the belly of the females would darken in color or gain some other distinctive marking indicating pregnancy; though from the way the sprite sheet appears set up you wouldn't notice the difference until around the second or third stage.
The middle is "Balloon Molly", another fishy attempt which also includes an alternate "tail." Maybe that would be gender linked. Pregnancy indication could be made the same way as the Pearlscales.
The bottom is "African Dwarf Frog" and meant to look, well, froggy. And sporty. Includes a look at the "Flipper/Paw" and "Flipper/Foot." Unless someone actually wants a psychadelic Kermit the color scheme is supposed to be muddy. |
 | I downloaded Artweaver and I drew this little Igua Norn to test it... Isn't he cute? ![[ntongue] [ntongue]](/images/smilies/emot_tongue.gif) |
 | This was also made with Artweaver
and Paintstar,as a test ^^
I spend some more time drawing this,it was actuly meant to become a remake of a old pic I done loong time ago and wanted to use this pic as a accurate reminder.
but...in the end it became a mixture, and so it became a new pic! I will someday remake that old pic *sigh*
Oh well,i actuly like this one.
A purple norn boy who got a lightbug (look more like a fairy from zelda -OcarinaOfTime,yes I know ^^' )
ah well - still I think it's nice X3 |
 | Since I can't draw/color in my adobe photoshop anymore for now,I ben looking for free paint programs - took a lot of download testing and searching - found 2 that was ok: Artweaver & Paintstar.
I tested to draw a bit in it - and this is number one, alltought they where seperate image,I just slapped them into one,as they where too similar - being norns (hebbes on top of that) and zoom in on faces ^^'
so here we see a female hatchling and a random male.
Had fun with testing what the fur effect could be done here XD
Theyre not wow , but it's expected for trying out a new paint program *shrugs* |
 | As promised,I post it here too,as I recall Rascii wondered if I plan to post it here,so why not?
This pic can be found on my DA page (DeviantArt) too,as I posted it there first XD
One thing that also bothered me with C4 norns is...why don't they have nosetrills o.o?
I know I didn't add any on this, did on another C4 pic I made, wich (if im lucky) can scan it >_>
Anyhow,A male C4 Norn with some typical norn traits added, such as tail, horn and the "boots" patterned legs XD Btwn: This is NOT my take of a C4 norn,I did look at the true C4 images and tried to be accurate to the real C4 ones, except some parts I went with the old classics, like body type and such XD
Not the best, but went put good I guess lol
*sigh* I wish I could ressurect
my adobe photoshop T_T'
Still try to solve my issue with that,it's my baby ;__;* |
 | My internet was out for 3 days (starting on Christmas) and I got to doodling. This was my second doodle that day of a norn I'd like to make one day.
She's probably related to Bondis and Bengals in some way. |
 | Little C2 norn art I did in photoshop. I love Fennec Foxes so I decided to make a Fennec norn for fun |
