Before the CC.com forums went down I made a fanfic called the hardhugger, I made it back when I had no writing skills what-so-ever. And I decided to rewrite it cause I had nothing else to do. ^_^;
Might I add, I still lack in writing skills.
Warning: This fanfic contains mild refrances to blood and death.
Chapter One: Death.
Talan, just watched helpless under his nest as his parents were murdered by Grendels, all he saw were three adult male Banshee Grendels punching the young Treehugger Norn?s parents to death? The Grendels checked all corners of the small tree-house for any valuable items, after finding nothing, the Grendels just left? As Talan arose from his small nest of leaves and hay, he saw his parents? Lying on the stained red floor with a idle look in their eyes? Talan never saw death before? so he didn?t understand what was happening, he prodded his parents in clear tears begging for them to wake up, he tried the for several hours, with no luck? He came to the sad truth, his parents weren?t going to wake up, he had no clue what to do, he sat in a corner for hours crying, he loved his parents, he didn?t want them to leave him.
After a few hours, Talan decided to leave his parents tree-house behind? from here on, it was just a memory, a sad memory, even though it was spring, even the plants looked withered and sad? Talan confused an sad wondered around a huge forest, in hope of finding another Norn, with no luck? The crimson moon, gleamed down to the forest? It was beautiful, yet haunting. Then in a split second, a giant Banshee jumped out kicking Talan to the ground, as he was about to inflict the finishing blow, he stopped in his paths and fell to the muddy ground? He noticed the was a piece of wood in the Grendel?s back? This ?monster? was not going to wake up, like his parents? He then saw a misty, dark and tall shadow by a old, withered tree, Talan walked up to him in caution? He did not know what this ?thing? was, and in fear got ready to run just incase, the shadow revealed itself, it was another Norn except a lot more rugged than his parents and a bit shorter, ?Kid, are you ok?? the Norn questioned ?That was a pretty bad kick that you received there?
?I?m fine, but? Why is the Lizard-like thing sleeping? And why did more of them make my Parents fall asleep forever?!? Talan asked, trembling in fear.
?Sleeping? Well? It is kind of like that? except you don?t wake up? Forever? It is called ?death?? Explained the norn ?Also? that Lizard-like beast that attacked you is a Grendel? And it is no surprise they killed your parents? Norns and Grendels are enemies and have been for over 100 years??
?So? my parents are never coming back?!? shouted Talan, in tears.
?I?m ?fraid not, kid?? Said the norn ?However you can come live with us? We can teach you how to fight these beasts, to help save Norn-kind, and to avenge your parents...?
Talan, with a confused look in his eyes, nodded, not knowing this choice would change his life forever?.

Kweeelllll.
Maybe you could use that for some sort of RP story or somthing! It looks really good.
My chapters in my stories are a bit short, too. They go for a few more pages, but still...
Do not upset the ugly worm, lest it be a dragon in disguise. (>oo)>

My artist's interpretation of the next chapter: (done in jest)
His parents were dead... It hadn't dawned on him before, but now the harsh reality punched him in the face...
wait... That wasn't the harsh reality! That was a Grendel!
The kid flew backwards into the arms of the mysterious hardman, who stepped forward and drew a small, customised sludge-gun from out of his coat.
He fired, but it had no affect on the grendel, who was advancing closer, and closer..
"Kid! Run!" shouted the enigmatic stranger. Talan turned and ran, the forest passed him by and he emerged into a clearing.
Whew, He thought; that was close!
but all feelings of relief washed from him as he realised that the mysterious norn had sacrificed himself so that Talan could escape.
He sat down, and yet again, the true reality of death struck him fully. Wait... That's not reality! That's an ettin! The ettin was pointing around the clearing. "look," it said "look closely at the shadows of the forest.
The young norn wheeled around, spotting dozens of pairs of red, vicious eyes revealing themselves in the shadows around them. An eerie silence was growing, and the ettin was calm, being some sick figure of death, a bystander of some other region, pulled startlingly into his own...
The ettin turned to him, and it's eyes went red. A hooded cowling rose up from its back and its face took on grendelish proportions. This was like nothing Talan had ever seen before, and he was meserised. He was transfixed as the once-average ettin morphed into a being of pure horror, and a word instinctively came to the sticken norn's lips. "Banshee."
"Yes, my child." The Banshee reached forward, the pinpoints of red light becoming more defined and horrifying, "And I have come for you."
Suddenly a yell filled the small space and the norn from before sprinted into the clearing, his arm was hanging limp, and he was being pursued by half a dozen grendels. The banshee vanished, and the lights disappeared as grendels emerged all around the clearing. These were different, though. Not like your usual grendel. They had a heirarchy. A leadership. Intelligence.
"What are they?!" Shouted the wounded norn. "They hit as hard as any grendel I know, and are twice as cunning.
"Banshee grendels" said Talan, almost in a trance.
"They're only a myth, and we have more pressing troubles to deal with." the rugged patron replied
A giant grendel, nearly twice the size of an ordinary grendel emerged from the forrest. He wore the skulls of a dozen slain treehuggers. Talan was sickened by this site, but more startled by the fact that this grendel was giving orders.
A hundred mean, green warriors started to advance.
"This can't be good." mumbled the norn. "my name's Sharn, by the way. It was nice meeting you."
"Likewise."
The grendels started to run.
Talan clutched the lucky charm his parents had given him, and closed his eyes, clasping the hand of Sharn in his final moments.
Seconds went by. Minutes, maybe. Nothing happened. Abbruptly, Sharn's voice filled his ears. "We're not dead! How is that possible? And why the HECK are we in a tree?"
Talan opened his eyes and almost fell over. They were in the Lucian Palace, home of the treehugger royalty. There was nothing left. The walls were covered in blood....

Chapter Two(I have no clue what else to call ‘em): The Serpent Grendel, Talan’s first kill.
It had been three whole months since Talan arrived at the Hardman Norn camp, and three months of training, Talan was no longer the Small Treehugger Norn he used to be, he was now a strong Adolescent Norn, his strength lacked a lot, but his usage of Vines and Trees in sparring made him quite dangerous, of course, he was still considered an outcast by his fellow Norns, but that didn’t stop him training.
In this small camp, each of the Hardman Norns developed weapons, each one unique to their fighting style, for example, the Hardman Norn that saved Talan, was a professional archer, and the lead fighter, was an expert at fist fighting, therefore created Claw Gloves, Talan was also a fist fighter, but his weapon shocked even the Hardman Norns themselves, Talan created a ball of herbs, the when he consumed, would be able to make him change his whole atom construction, he had 3 forms, his running form, in which he becomes the shape of a cheeter, to be able to run a high speeds, his climbing form, in which he gains pores on his hands that allow him to climb anything, and the strength form, in which he gains a height and muscle increase.
Later that day, Talan’s first real Grendel hunt began, just before he left he consumed a herb ball, he decided to change into his running form, while walking through a huge forest, everyone in the hunt heard a huge screech, a Grendel was close… Real close.
It didn’t take Talan long to find the Grendel, it had a snake like bodied appearance, and very large fangs, Talan instantly realized this was a threat and changed into his strength form, which startled the Grendel and attacked Talan, Talan quickly grabbed a fallen log and threw it at the Grendel, making it more angry, it curled up and pounced at Talan, head butting Talan’s stomach, Talan then saw some Death Cap Mushrooms, then he grabbed some thorns, and slashed the thorns into the Death Cap, making some of it’s poison go onto the thorns. The Grendel in a desperate final move, struck at Talan, and stabbing Talan in the arm with his tail, Talan had been hit bad, but it was too late, Talan threw the thorn vine like a whip, and got it around the Serpent’s neck, and pulled, the thorns pierced the Grendel’s windpipe and killed the Grendel! Talan ran back with the head of the Grendel to the head fighter, in hope of praise, what he got... Was much different…
End of chapter! (Sorry about lateness, btw)
