Here I am with a terrible amount of things that bother me, although they should not! Here is the core of this topic: what are personal pet peeves of yours which should not bother you, yet do so anyway? Are there things you especially dislike, despite not being your thing? One thing I hate is people saying "LCD Display".... "LCD" means "Liquid crystal display", so LCD Display is "liquid crystal display display"..... GRRRR! For some reason, the word 'utilise' really bothers me. It means the same exact thing as 'use', except its more ~sophisticated~. It literally does not need to exist when its quicker to just say use! |

Incorrect spelling. Sorry, can't help it.  When people on your Facebook 'Like' posts or comments that clearly aren't happy ones. What's to like about a status where someone is upset or having a tough time? When it's raining or snowing in video games and you see droplets or snowflakes on a camera lens that's suddenly appeared. In a game that's meant to be immersive, you wouldn't see that. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I'm looking at you! |

Young people editing their selfie ( making eyes bigger, adding eyeshadow and a lot of other stuff via cellphone), but claiming it is not photoshopping at all. Oh and when I read formal English texts from colleagues which should please for the love of God not contain any don't, couldn't plus the incorrect use of must in any text. ( I am part of the university public student body and translated with some of them the website... On a similar note, I hate it when people upload stupid, edited photos onto dating websites, particularly those using that annoying dog filter. It doesn't make you look cute, it makes you look like a moron. |

I often watch electronics and/or DIY videos and I hate it when they solder on batteries. Those things don't like getting hot, so don't do it. Another thing that grinds my gears is when they hot glue single use batteries in place. Why would you do what? Make it either removable or rechargable! >.< Even worse: why use a clip for quick switching if it is glued, and as such fixed, into the machine's body? Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... I can't stand it when there is a documentary about space on TV and they talk about the possibility of alien life. They always always assume that life on other planets would be juuuuust like life as we know it here, hence the planets they are looking for have to be exactly like earth. I am pretty sure there could be all sorts of wacky life out there that could live happily on worlds that would kill us in an instant if we set foot on them. But noooooo, they only ever talk about earth-like life on earth-like planets, or in other words: colonies to loot. Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis... |
