I have never heard of or played these games before, and I really want to get into them. I purchased creatures 3 exodus on steam. I watch people play it on you tube and they have all these cool rooms for the norns to live in. When I play, they seem confined to a relatively small area, perhaps the 'docking station' ?? I can lead them through a few doors. I can confine them in some machine and check their health. I can also download new agents with some other machine, and thats it. I have read the manual and guides online and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Before I start the game I chosen both initial options. Not sure what I am doing wrong. So basically I feel really dumb that I cant seem to figure this out! Please help me, I am super bored with this game and don't want to give up on it! |

Welcome!
Creatures Exodus is a combination of two games that were originally released separately - Creatures 3 and Docking Station. Docking Station is the newer game and was originally released in part as a free promo/demo for Creatures 3, though it also had an updated engine and new online features. DS can be played either by itself or by combining it with C3.
It sounds like you may be playing DS by itself, which has a fairly small area. If you want access to the full area, when you create a new world, you need to click the button in the middle. If it says 'Capillata only', then you will only get the small DS area in the world; if you click it so it says 'Capillata docked with the Shee Starship', then you get access to both the DS area and the full C3 area. You start in the DS area either way, but if you click through the door to the right and go into the hallway area, there should be a machine in the middle with a red mushroom thingy, and clicking that will take you to the C3 area, which is much larger.
The people doing streams or let's plays you've seen might also have installed user-made rooms, of which there are many. I would recommend exploring the C3 area first before you start adding those, though. |
