Creatures 3 Not Functional in Exodus

Issue in Short: Exodus was installed per Arnout's guide to the best of my current knowledge. However, DS is currently not recognizing C3 is installed (preventing me from creating docked worlds and using C3 breeds) and C3 standalone will not play.

Issue in Detail: When initially installing Exodus, I simply followed the installer that came with GOG.com. When it only played C3 and not DS, I searched around and found Arnout's guide. I uninstalled Exodus using the Remove Programs feature (Windows 10), then reinstalled it per the instructions in this guide. This includes the --autokill detail for DS's shortcut, the Creatures Remastered Patch, and the offline compatibility for DS.

My Documents -> Creatures folder appears like this:

To be clear, the C3 folder as it appears here is entirely empty, and the DS one contains an engine that doesn't run. The Exodus folder, however, also has separate C3 and DS folders, each of which with relevant game files.

The result, amusingly, is that I now appear to have the opposite problem. I have access to DS through the shortcut I created (it plays well!), but for some reason, it won't recognize that C3 is present to dock. This is a bummer to me, as I would like docked worlds and I'd love to have C3's base game breeds and their sprites present in my wolfing runs. [nsad] Not to mention, when I try to run C3 standalone...

This error message is impassable. All three options simply close the error message and do not allow me access.

I'm not sure how to make it so that C3 is 1) recognized by DS and 2) hopefully runnable by itself. The latter isn't the end of the world for me, as I usually play DS anyway, but I would be sad to leave behind all the C3 creatures and the Shee Starship. I have already tried copying over the files from Exodus' C3 and DS subfolders into the C3 and DS folders in the main Creatures folder, moving the files loose in the Exodus folder into the main Creatures folder, and deleting the Exodus folder. (Did I say "folder" enough times, there? [nlaugh]) This did not fix my issue, so I have undone it for now.

If this cannot be fixed, I would also be happy to receive help in adding the base game breeds (including Grendels and Ettins) and possibly the Shee Starship metarooms as injectable metarooms without having C3 available for docking. That would work, too. [nblush]

Have you tried completely uninstalling and then reinstalling to your My Documents\Creatures folder?

I second C-Rex. The whole Creatures series has a lot of trouble with accessing files that are not in My Documents. I followed Mad Doodles's guide to installing Exodus and it worked for me.
