So... My DS decided to stop making noise suddenly today.
Here are things I have tried to do to fix it:
-made sure speakers are turned on
-made sure system/speaker volume is up
-made sure in-game volume is at max and sounds/music are on
-switched worlds/made new ones
-reverted to a backup data folder that has been unchanged since it was installed
-reinstalled DS
all of the above have proved useless. Any ideas?
Update: Problem sol-ved.
Here's what went down:
Before I played DS today, I has installed the OS X Tiger 10.4.9 software update (I'm on a Mac). Aparently the update has been problematic for many users, although I didn't experience any problems at first. So, when I opened DS it took me a while to figure out that the software update was the cause of the problem, until I realised that a few other system sounds weren't workinh either. So, I searched Google and found a solution, opening GarageBand and then closing it.
Something about how it initializes sound files fixed everything.
Cheers. |

That... is beyond odd. O_o
Sometimes Macs can be just as weird as Windows boxes.
