You may notice a few advertisements popping up on some areas of the website. Although I firmly believe that ads shouldn't go on websites, I currently need the revenue to pay for the hosting, domain costs, etc.
So please don't let them scare you away! I'm trying to make them blend in as well as possible. And if you would like, please check out the links if you see anything of interest!

At the moment, I am limiting advertisements to the following pages:
Website Index
Forum Index
Navigation
I don't think that will be too overbearing since they won't be on thread listings, forum topics, or other website pages. 8)
Let me know if you have any comments/suggestions!

The Ads dident catch my attention really, Most of everything around the internet has ads on it, so ads coming into creaturescaves dosent seem to change the feel of the website nor the content.
...so in a nutshell they seem fine.

It's understsndable, because hosting must be expensive for such a good, problem free website. |

No, it doesn't. I don't think, because I still have the ads.
It just blocks popups. |

In all irony, I assumed that because I don't even SEE any advertisments.

There are extensions for Firefox that do indeed block ads. I for instance, see none. |

I used to use an application to do that, but it used to block my webmail buttons as well
Adverts vs hosting costs has always been a big issue. I for one have had to change hosting companies this week to reduce costs.

I'm surprised that a browser can block information from showing up in a page since it's embedded in the actual coding of the page. That seems a little bit big-brotherish because then the browser could just filter out anything and the user would have no idea.

Big brother is knowing that if you travel to several different countries and enter the same search query into Google that it will come back with different results (and sometimes no matches), but then that's political power for you.

Political power and advretizment seem to be mingling in canada. One more reson Im starting to doubt my government's power and willingness, but in all fairness their doing a good job and I jus realized we started out with Adds and got to canadian government. Wow, that was weird. Anywho, will there be any big, flashy, annoying adds up here anytime soon? Im getting my add blocker up and running soon.

Erm, I thought I saw a few ads on other parts of the forum.
When I first saw the ads, I thought that there were simply a lot more users on the forum. So really they seem to just blend in so you don't notice them to much.
C Caves is running a bit slower though. But still....

I'll see what I can do. The ads may take a moment to load but it shouldn't slow down the rest of the content.

Nope, tried using IE and there was no change. The forums in particular are running very slow. This thread took over 15 seconds to load. The forum index is about the same. Which, doesn’t sound like much, but it used to be nearly instant. I'm not trying to bash the ads or anything, as I do understand the need to have them, I’m just pointing out the apparent correlation between them and the slowdown.
