I just wanted a general idea, how many people here know something about c1 coding? I know there aren't many of us left, but I thought it would be nice to see if there was anyone else I could talk to about it.
Also I am fairly interested in making an article that has active c1 coders for other people interested in learning c1 code.

Yeah, I find it easier to process C1 CAOS than make sense of C3 code. I've never done a complete cob (lack the graphics skills) but I know enough to fix problems in cobs I come across. |

I've wanted to learn for a long time: I have a huge soft spot for Creatures 1, as it was my very first Creatures game, and have been told by others that the CAOS is easier to grasp. Being unable to run BoBCoB on my computer has always put me off though. Oh, the things I would create... I have about 17 years worth of ideas up here! |

I know a bit, but I don't play C1 often enough to put it to much use. |

Not sure if you're still interested, but I'm a prety good CAOS coder, I've made dozens of cobs...
... woah, I just did a bit of totting up and (not to blow my own trumpet) but I count 123 cobs. |

I know the theory, and have been experimenting with it a great deal lately. I have not even tried other games. Not being an artist however, I am not able to produce anything that would be of interest to other people.
I am currently working on two CAOS editors. Neither one injects code or compiles COBs, but they do a good job of syntax checking, and command autocomplete. The one I am working on for JetBrains IDE's has a shortcut for generating CLAS values from family+genus+species numbers, along with a fair bit of code checking, but it won't be released until next week. I have an experimental online one (only works on desktop browsers. Possibly only Chrome and Firefox) that you can read about here. Or try out at CaosChaos.com/editor
The webpage though is around 3 megabytes gzipped, and almost 9 megabytes expanded. So it may take a while to load on some connections and in some browsers. |
