So... I found this file I made ages ago, with the help of many people...
An altered meerk, which eliminates the 'dead meerk in norn terrarium' bug, dislikes getting its feet wet, and spends more time running around the ettin terrarium and less time hiding in its burrow. It is also more interactive for your creatures.
I would appreciate any comments on it and if it's buggy, not buggy, whatever. To install, rename your meerk.cos something else, rename this file to meerk.cos, and ject 7 it.
Yes, but for a first install not neccessary, my idea would also only work until the seed bank creates new meerk because it would use the original file and not the new one. So your way is the better one.
If this is the same meerk I tested a few years back, then I believe the failure to disappear is actually intentional, and that Norns can actually take multiple bites out of the Meerk (causing injury) before killing it.
The 'flying forward' behaviour (which is apparently unsupported on my Mac) was meant to simulate the meerk being sensible and running away from the creature who just picked it up (and probably took a bite) while it was doing its own thing.
I decided to do the 'multi-bite' thing because I didn't want an overly hungry creature to decimate the meerk population - as these meerks still can't breed.
