I downloaded (as I said one or two threads before) Monk. Now I have a question:
The window says "Drop files here"
how is that meant? Do I have to open a file-browser and then pull them out of the window into Monk? That does not work for me, what am I doing wrong?

Are you trying to un-PRAY an agent, or are you trying to PRAY an agent together?

I already tried both. And both I tried with both check-boxes: PRAY chunk and PRAY source. But it seems as when the files do not arrive it...

I've found I've had greatest success with Monk when the agent to be parsed (unzipped) is in its' own unique folder. (And conversely, when the files to be sewn together to make an agent are in their own folder.)
When it comes to Monk, I've noticed that "some files are more equal than others" - some files take longer to parse (unzip) than others. I do not know why this is, only that this is so.
Are you paying attention to the status indicator? (ringed in yellow) Note that I've got it set on 'making an agent out of different files' - as an aside note, I find it helps me to put all component files in one folder together.
It has a few moods... Awaiting files, Nothing to do, (when you're not doing the right thing) Parsing xyz.agents (when getting the scripts etc. out of an agent), Generating xyz.agents (when you're making an agent out of your files), and Done. There is another that briefly flashes up when you're unzipping an agent, but I've not caught what it says yet.

I tried it now again with files in own folders. I even tried to pull in the whole folder: again nothing.
My mouse-pointer changes so as when it could add the files, but when I drop them nothing happens.
The status indicator says all the time just "Awaiting files" as in your screenshot, even when I try to drop the files.

When you are trying to create an agent, you only need to drag and drop the PRAY source file, and when you are trying to dismantle an agent, you only need to drag and drop the agent. I don't understand why it doesn't work for you - perhaps try emailing RProgrammer?

Aaaahhh!!! THAT is meant with PRAY source! I thought it meant cosfiles! I will try that when I have again one.
For cutting an agent into pieces I need PRAY chunk, right? The healthbar is still a compact file, so I might really email RProgrammer...
Or I just try to change the window manager.

You need "PRAY source" checked to cut an agent into its pieces. Does the status indicator say that it's parsing the healthbar agent?

Still nothing. I started Monk. selected "PRAY source", opened a file browser and pulled the agent into Monk.
The only thing that happened was that the agent floated over the screen back on its place in the file browser. Monk commented the scene with "Awaiting files".
Do I have to drop the PRAYbuilder in the same folder as Monk or does it work without, too?

As I am using Monk on a Mac, I'm not entirely following what you're saying when you say "The only thing that happened was that the agent floated over the screen back on its place in the file browser." - could you please post some screenshots? I'm sure that RProgrammer would appreciate the screenshots when you email him.

It is nothing special, I think even Windows does that. When you click at a file and you hold the button down, the icon moves with the mouse, too. When you now try to "drop" it anywhere where it can not be dropped (e.g. you try to pull it into a game's window) the icon just "flys" back to the place you grabbed it from...
And the same happens with my file browser and Monk.

Yeah, it's typical in Windows. Can't tell you why it's doing that now, though, unless the file is read-only or something weird. And even then I think it would give you an error message at least.

Ah, I get it now. You drop it on the 'drop stuff here' blue target - so the blue target isn't working? I think you should email RProgrammer.

There's a new version of Monk out recently - version 2.0. Give it a whirl - perhaps the problem has been fixed?

Hmm, okay. Which of those links is the download link? I'm not sure which one it is in the article.

The SourceForge one is the right one, and I think the 'right version' of Jagent should pop up automatically and be in the big green download button.

Oh, you mean "Jagent is hosted on SourceForge here." ? Sorry, didn't see it. Sometimes I am kind of blind
