I just want to say thank you to all the creative people who have contributed content to the Creatures series over the years. As a new player my experience has been greatly enhanced from the information and mods that are available. It takes a lot of time and effort to create content and I find it really inspiring and humbling to be able to benefit from everyone's passion and talent.
I am caring for a loved one who is in hospice and these games and the fan made content are very therapeutic. Thank you for enhancing my entertainment and mental well-being!

Sorry to hear about your circumstances, but glad Creatures is keeping you entertained! Which version have you been playing? |

C3/docking station. I have purchased the older games but haven't had time to play them yet.. it is a shame I didn't play these games when I was younger. They came out at a time when I was making Qbasic programs and ugly fansites. I bet they would have stimulated the interest I had in computers at that time. Oh well!
I only have about 50 hours in c3 so im super new. I realized I neglected to install all the recommended patches/fixes, so I think im going to start with a fresh installation tonight and kinda start over. |

C3/DS are the easiest to get running currently (especially if you're using the steam edition.)
C1 can run on modern machines, but C2 is extremely difficult to run outside of a VM.
If you have any questions about 3rd party content, my archive (http://eemfoo.org) has a discord at: https://discord.gg/UjpKqCjStS We'd be glad to suggest content and help. |

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I will probably need help with C2. |

If you ever decide to try out Creatures 2, the Steam release is the version I've had the most luck with on a modern OS. I would recommend checking out this thread for getting C2 to be more user-friendly (gameplay-wise). Additionally, make sure to use the pre-patched world file (the method that doesn't involve using Room Editor) because it contains a fix for a significant mapping error.
