Hi. So I decided to try and learn how body att works on Creatures 3 (Big thing for me as I am a bit number blind) I understand that there are 16 columns and 10 numbers in each file, wheres the last 6 numbers are usually all 0's. I understand that they are used as a way to tell the game where each limp are connected to. I understand that in the head body att, only has 4 columns, 1+2: head to body and 3+4: mouth position. I assume 1+2 and 3+4 are columns and not lines. I understand that Line 1-4 of first columns correspond to sprites facing right at all four angles, and 5-8 is left. So with that, I opened up paint and picked the fellow norn head sprite (the head is facing the camera) and its correspond body att file, and selected a pen, I then moved it around the picture and got numbers at the bottom of the page, example 30,20. The body att looks like this (first 2 columns) 34 49 47 52 0 0 0 0 0 0 37 50 50 50 0 0 0 0 0 0 So I attempted to find those numbers on the head and found them fairly easy, however my confused is that none of the numbers where directly in the middle of the chin (where I assume the neck is) they were a bit to the side, if you take the pen and move it to under one of the eyes and then move the pen all the way down to the chin area (straight line down) the numbers would be around that area. Bit of an odd place to attach the body to, I would have thought it would have been placed directly at the middle of the chin. So my first question is, am I doing something wrong? Second question, in the columns, which numbers controls what? For example: (fellow head, from the above numbers) 34 49 47 52 0 0 0 0 0 0 I would have thought that a neck and a body only had 1 attach point, like 34 pixels left and 49 pixels right, so what are the 47 and 52 for? Or am I way out? Any help would be appreciated, would be nice if someone could demonstrate it somehow, but I would be happy with any help really. Been looking through guides and I just can't seem to understand it. EDIT: Still don't know what the numbers means, so I used body parts from another breed that seemed to fix the body att issue. HOWEVER, it only fixed it for left and right, if the creature is facing the camera (eg front) the body parts goes all over the place, and I have no clue where or how to fix that either. |

Sorry, I don't know the first thing about manually editing ATTs, but here's what the attachment points look like in the ATT Editor:  The body node attaches in the center of the head (so that the head remains centered as the creature looks up and down), and the head's node is at the mouth to indicate the direction of the gaze. |

Have you looked at the att file tutorial on Breeders Beware? It's focused on C3/DS, but in my experience most of the info should hold across all three games. |

What pictures are gone? The ones in the tutorial? They all load fine when I view the page. ![:\](/images/smilies/confused.gif ":\") What part of the tutorial are you having the most trouble with (aside from image problems)? I may be able to clarify things a little.  |

That explains so much, I had problem finding out which numbers was which. Like which one are the mouth and which one is the neck part. But now it makes since, thanks. It looks like that page had outdated URLs, and was directing to the old version of the tutorial (and a few others). I've updated them now so they go to the right place. Thanks for pointing that out! You can absolutely PM me with any questions you have. There are a few advantages to posting here instead, since other people will be able to chime in if they know something helpful (or might benefit from the conversation if they came here with the same question), but it's totally up to you. I know some people are more comfortable one way or the other.  |
