Well I thought there wasnt enough poetry in this forum so here goes...
As it floats eerily in the air
Making me nervous, ruffles my hair
The first thing I see when I hatch from my egg
The last thing I see before I am dead
As it guides me through my life
With pats tickles and slaps alike
I question my dependance on this oddy
Who somehow has no body!
I will let you all decide
who is wrong and who is right?
Is it good or is it bad?
The truly wonderous, godlike hand!
review pleese!

Awesome! I really liked it. I'll see if I can make one up later.

Wow. So rarely do we see pieces on the moral ambiguity of our role as the hand. I like the image of the hand ruffling a norn's hair - I've often wished I could actually do that. Maybe next time experiment with another rhyming scheme?

I like it! The contrast between calling the hand an oddy (haha) and commenting that it observes life and death is actually sort of eerie. But good eerie |

Mine are silly
Ettin's Lament
I wish an ettin I was not
My home, the desert, is too hot
I roam the ship in constant pain
When my task stops, it starts again
I see the hand an import getting
Oh my, what's this? A male ettin!
As now I kisspop gleefully,
An ettin I am glad to be
The Greening of the Grendel
The grendel was once furry brown
A coat one grend detested
Though he could blend in with the norns
He longed for something festive
Began to scour the land for paint
But chanced 'pon a machine
So put himself inside one pod
The other, something green
That lizard did not know its fate
Nor did our grendel hero
Once button pushed and lever pulled
Their form reduced to zero
Out from a nozzle popped an egg
It soon began to crack
Emerged from it a brand new grend
Red eyes and hump in back
But unlike those that walked before
A spectacle unseen
Was this new grendel, void of fur
All scales and mottled green
The norns all turned and ran in fear
This species was now threat'ning
Soon grendels became shunned by all
Including shee and ettin
The lizard grendel's reptile ways
Would soon come to the fore
With brood created, he now seeks
Revenge with tooth and claw |
