I think I had something related to Exploding Head Syndrome before. o.o I woke up because I heard a loud noise or I saw a flash in my head...it was weird.

That's pretty close to how I experience it: just as I'm drifting off to sleep I'll feel something building up in my brain, and then all of the sudden I'll "hear" this loud ZAP, see a flash of light, and feel something like an electric current run across my brain. It doesn't hurt, but it's really annoying if I don't catch it before it builds up too much because it jerks me fully awake. It usually happens once every one or two months, when I'm really stressed about one thing or another.
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

Kind of reminds me of something that happens to me every once in a while. I'll be drifting off to sleep, but my body stops "sensing" my surroundings before I'm actually asleep. Which results in the awake part of my mind jumping to the conclusion that "OMG YOU'RE FALLING!!!" So I end up jolting awake in alarm, grabbing the mattress in a death grip, only to realize that I'm actually just lying there in a perfectly normal fashion.
It doesn't bother me so much, but it really freaked my mother out a few times. Fortunately I've gotten used to it and my reactions aren't quite as... dramatic as they used to be. It still happens every so often though, especially if I've been hiking or something.

Yeah, I've felt like that too. Heard a random noise out of nowhere or just felt a scary sensation.

I've begun hearing things other people cannot. These noises are strange, I cannot explain them.
First time I noticed it, was when I heard this noise in class, it was having the effect on me that it does on a dog (via dog whistle), I never found out what it was.
Also, I've heard voices calling my name that nobody else hears....

So sorry.
Personally, I pride myself on my good immune system. I'm the last usually in my house hold to contract what ever my step father brings home from work.
I'm only sick for a day, unlike others. Not to mention that even if I begin to feel sick, I'm usually not, and if I don't feel well, yet not sick, my mom says I need to attend school.
My absences often are leaving early for doctor appointments. Though, my mother schedules most appointments after or before school, or when it's the weekend, or when I'm on break.

I have Dysgraphia. The best way I can explain it is if you think of the nerves like wires, somewhere in my wires there is a short between the brain and the hands that make the signals get lost or cause sparks(in this case pain). Computers help, but even then it is still hard to get the words from my head to the screen without constantly talking to myself.
The odd thing is though my hands may not work well for writing but they sure know how to draw and sculpt. |

The thing Ghosthande was referring to is called a hypnic jerk. When our muscles are relaxing while we are trying to get to sleep, sometimes the muscles will jerk. Most people experience this, in fact I had it happen to me the other night.
If your hiking the muscles will be more tensed so the jerk is more likely to happen!

When i was small i had a cough for a few years. When ever somebody coughs or i think of coughing, I cough . During the spring dust and pollen clog my nose. Just at random times i will hear a high pitch whine. Oh and sometimes when in bed i get something similar to ghosthande only i feel wieghtless and like I'm flying around. And I'm insane.

Yeah, I forgot what that was called, but it is a very common phenomenon, almost a routine part of falling asleep.
I'm comparatively healthy, I don't think I've had anything as severe as most of these. I did once or twice experience this phenomenon after severe insomnia, it is quite interesting:

I once had Appendicitis and had to spend nearly a week in hospital. It was good though, because I got to spend two weeks off school. The downside though was that it was my first year at Highschool . |
