Any of you have strange and weird diseases, conditions, illnesses, cysts  nornloverianAnyway post them here  I wanna know what kinda things you have wrong with you of course that's if your comfortable talking about it!I'll start One: my adenoids are inflamed Two! I have sensory intergration dysfunction you can see what that is in the article. I can sort of explain this disorder to you. But it's very complicated, ok so when you sense stuff through either of your 5 senses a nerve singnal goes to your brain. When the signal goes to your brain your brain gives a reaction or so to your nerves so you feel, taste, smell, see, or hear something. For me my brain either thinks it sense waaaaaay too much of something or it senses waaaaay too little of something. When I sense way too little of something I crave more of it. Like for me I love squishy wetish squidgible things like playdoh or putty because I sense too little of the feeling of touching them. gasps for air. long sentence. If I sense too much of something I hate it like the sight of someone rubbing their hand against their jeans UGHHH. Random stuff like that. It also makes me wear weird things so people think I am a freak  . But anyways. That's it for me.  ~Ratty <3 |

Ive had to get gromets in my ears when I was 3 because whenever water goes in them it sounds like I'm constantly underwater what with the muffled sounds and all. Even today I dont like being dunked in the pool, lol. |

try jumping up and down on one leg with the side of your head with the ear full of water pointed to the ground. im not kidding, it worked for me the one time. my mom gave me the advice, and she was on a swim team in the spring you gotta let the flowers fully blossom |

Okay, now to begin: I'm extremely pale, and it's very hard for me to tan at all without burning (I become red as a lobster, and my legs are the only think that can darken)* I have ADHD I have OCD I have Asperger's Syndrome (I'm a high functioning aspie) As stated, I had a cyst when I was little, which, the surgery left a giant scar across my belly. Oh, and I lack a gall bladder, which causes my to have digestion problems. My family's history: My dad has bipolar My mom has ADD My grandmother (on my dad's side) has leukemia and diabetes My grandfather (deceased on my dad's side) had skin cancer (carpenter) and died of a stroke My uncle on my dad's side has diabetes Personally, I'm probably going to inherit diabetes no matter what, and also another form of cancer, probably skin cancer or leukemia, maybe both. Oh, and my skin, is so pale, that after burning, and peeling, the layer below is even paler. beep |

I am extremely allergic for a few things, i think i have ADD and ADHD, but i think my parents will not believe me... My brother got autism and i think i also got some behaviour problems.. |

Oh, I just remembered that when I was 2 I had a cyst near my eye! There is a scar but is hard to notice (I didnt notice it til I was ten!) Don't be worried about who is right, Just follow you heart... |

Wow. Mine (scar, that is), isn't hard to notice, it goes all the way across my belly, it's giant (from my right side to my left, though, some of it has disappeared over time). Oh, and there's also an indentation on my right side, apparently it's a drainage hole (they had to drain something from my stomach in order to operate). beep |

I remember you mentioning that somewhere, and I learned: It's not that bad for you, you said it takes a while for it to be too bad, so small contact, say, touching a penny for a short while, won't be too bad. Oh, and speaking of allergies, I don't have a technical allergy, but it's more like this: If I go swimming, the chlorine will do something to my skin (only a certain part of my body), where a rash appears, and it burns. When showering, my entire body burns, especially the part that has a rash. Oh, and it seems I am unaffected when I swim at night, or for short periods of time. Though, my skin is uncomfortable whenever touching water with chlorine. beep |

I have something reminiscent of an allergy, I guess. I'm not lactose intolerant, but some brands of dairy make me sick. Just certain brands though. I can eat and drink as much of the cheap store brands as I want and I feel just fine, but the expensive "high quality" stuff makes me feel like I have food poisoning! There's no pattern in which ingredients they use, so I think it's just how they process the ingredients or something.  |

lol so many sick folk i have something called paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (subtype avnrt), which is a total mouthful to type and tl;dr to explain, though wiki does a good job of it. basically the electrical wiring in my heart is haywire and i have a circuit where it should be a one way street i dig it. one time i had to have my heart stopped in the ER with a shot. i didn't have a heart beat for six seconds! awesome I wanna be your lover, Lipstick my name across your mirror. Since we're on the subject..it's not a big thing, but its still annoying. My cheeks are very sensitive, so when some shampoo or something accidentally touches my face in the shower they go flaming red and burns....it looks like I've been camping out five yards from the sun |

As everybody else is sharing their illnesses, why not... I was born 12 weeks premature, which meant my brain was starved of oxygen, and as a result I have this form of Cerebral Palsy. I came in at a grand weight of 2lb 11oz when I was born. That's about the same weight as a bag of sugar. I can still walk, but I cannot physically run, jump or hop, and my gait is a bit wonky, lol. |

I once had Hydrocephalia as well as Gorlynn's Syndrome, which ended up with me having a cyst in my brain for a while. Eventually it disappeared. It was neat seeing the MRIs of it though. . . . Creepy thing though. A lot of doctors and specialists freaked me out when I was 12, because they all thought I was going to die or something. They had me so worried that when I had a severe headache during class once, one of my TA's knew about my "diseases" and all, and rushed me out of class, worried about it. . . Also, I once had the craziest nosebleed that caused me to lose a lot of clotted blood. I thought it was brain tissue or something!! It really did scare me.-Karias; a bit fruity and gone bananas in the wrong climate! |

I'm pretty healthy, but I have a math learning disability called Dyscalculia so it takes a longer time for me to process information in mathematics and use it effectively. It's pretty embarrassing when I see a tutor at college and I have to count on my fingers for something simple. XD I get confused when it comes to directions too. I was once thought to have ADD, but sometimes I have slight symptoms of it, even though I probably do not have it. I tend to space out easily and sometimes have a hard time sitting still for too long. Small bird who lives here sometimes, and wanders other times. Got Creatures related content to share? I thought of another one... Mountain Dew. I don't know what it is about the stuff, but whenever I drink it I get symptoms like I have an ear infection. I will suddenly have way too much fluid in my ears, and if I turn my head I can feel the pressure change and my ears will pop. It's really strange. |

So sorry laura. My asperger's makes it to where the way I walk, run, etc., is strange, different, some call it funny. I've been known to walk like a penguin, or the way big foot is known to walk. Speaking of birth, I was born by c-section. My mom was going to have me one day, but she was told they were busy, so they asked her to come in the next day, so, I was technically late. With my little sis, she was born (I can't remember) either 1-2 week(s) early/late, though I think it's the first one. Coincidentally, her birthday is the 13th of jan, and mine is the 26th of jan. beep |

Oh, please don't be sorry for me nornloverian; I don't let my disability interfere with anything I do, or let it define me, or let it be a huge part of my life. I just get on with things. I even forget I'm disabled, unless something or someone reminds me! We seem to have something else in common though - I was born by C-Section too. My poor mother was in labour for three days, lol. |

I have a skin condition, not a big deal but I have tiny little bumps on my arm. I have asma, but I'm not sure if the asma attack I had in Sep 2009 was a one time thing or not since I've never had any symptoms of asma or anything. Also, I have a cancer-less tumor on my back which I need to have removed, I've had that for 2 years. Lastly, I have a huge skin colored mole on my left hand that increases my risk of getting some kind of cancer. I have flat foot and my teeth don't touch each other when I smile or close my mouth since I always have my tongue between my teeth. Oh, and I had to have my tonsils removed when I was 6 years old. I think that's all.  |

Wow, your mother was birthing you the time it takes for a dog to birth all it's puppies (I think your's took longer than most births). Melody, sorry about the cancer, I share your pain, as my grand father (on dad's side) had skin cancer (died of stroke, you'd think it was the cancer 0.o), my grand father has leukemia and diabetes (now my uncle does too), and thanks to the history of smokers on my mom's side (I don't know how far it goes back) may give me higher risk of cancer. My risk of diabetes (even if I became a health nut, excercised, worked out, or maybe became a body builder, my chance to get diabetes is so high, by most likeliness, I'd still get diabetes or worse!) is extremely high, probably higher as I think my grandmother on my mom's side may have had diabetes, and my grand father on my dad's side might have had diabetes too... NOTE: I went to my mom to ask questions, and my grandmother on her side had diabetes, her kidneys were failing near the end (for the last few years, she was on dialisys, and was unable to walk), and she died of complications (by that, I mean a mix of things, including heart faliure). Though, with my genetics, the likely chances of me getting diabetes, or other heart/blood diseases, or even cancer, are extremely high, so high, there's probably no chance for me to stop it. Personally, I don't worry about it, as those things may only show up a while from now. Not to mention, if it's inevitable, I won't worry about it. I don't think I should worry about it too much. Also bad news, it turned out that my grandmother's insurance policy that had exclusions and was denied an operation that could've more likely saved her from the disease. I have aspergers (autism spectrum), and sadly, some of my treatment (which is life long) isn't covered. Plus I had to have a surgery when he was 5 to remove a softball size cyst from his bile tracts. The operation required the removal of my gall bladder. (I found out that it was when I was five, and it was soft ball size). beep |

The only thing I've ever been formally diagnosed with is allergies. They're mainly annoying ones like dust, grass, cat saliva, etc., and none of them are exactly life-threatening (except maybe my allergy to Aleve, which was incidentally never diagnosed by a doctor; I got to figure that one out on my own >_> ). An eye doctor last year suggested I have hyper photosensitive eyes that cause dry eye, so I take eye drops almost daily to counter that. As for undiagnosed things, I think I may have some sort of anxiety disorder, and also possibly suffer from depression. They've never been formally diagnosed because I've never tried to get them diagnosed (for a whole slew of awful excuses that I won't bore you with), but it's getting to a point where I think I need to start looking into treating them (or at least figure out what's really going on). But one thing at a time.... First I want to clear up whether I have this or not, which is what I'm *currently* being tested for. And this'll likely never be recognized by any doctor, but I'm convinced I have Exploding Head Syndrome. xD You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there. -- Jim Adkins |
