alright well i'll probably get flamed for this but... anyone remember the creatures match? does anyone perhaps have DS norns trained to fight (or would you like to train one)? i have a norn that i believe is perhaps the ultimate fighting/survival machine. anyone want to face their norn again my norn in a fight to the death? teehee. I don't think there's a working archive. The last time I tried to look for one, the archive I found was mostly broken. I think this is the only creature I have left that originally came from that site. Three guesses as to why I downloaded her, and the first two don't count. :p You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. Awww I miss TCM. It was always interesting to read Phantom's accounts of how the fights went down. He started recording narrations of them too at some point if I remember right. Great stuff. I entered a random grettin into the fights once, but I don't think I've bred/trained any creatures specifically for fighting since.  [Naturing :: Nurturing] |

I was wondering, how exactly, do you train norns to fight in DS? I tried showing one to hit the training toy, and well, it learned to hit things, but, it happened to be next to a female, and they began to, well, mate..... The male was hitting the female, and eventually she got pregnated, but the next second, she died....... I think I'll be making a new world, titled "Prison", which is where I'll put violent norns, norns who fail to co-operate in IQ tests (Which can make the prison a concentration camp, I mean, work camp, I mean, prison, yeah that works!), and in general, norns I dislike. Once I get 'prison' set up, all they'll need is things to shank each other with! I mean, weapons! beep |

That toy usually teaches them to 'push'. A push from the opposite sex(or with the opposite sex in smell range) stimulates the production of sex hormones, especially in males, and this is why they mated. Were you using Chi-chi norns? Siamese seem to be more aggressive to grendels, so try with them or introduce some into your population to give advice on what to do when bored. They tend to suggest 'hit grendel'. All so, if you are not already aware, you can type messages to the norns which appear from the hand which all within earshot hear. On another note, I would be keen to try this fighting out, my game name is Glabrezu. |

I'm using DS only, and they were Chi Chi norns. The male was slapping her after pushing, and the female, died after impregnation..... I didn't know that those messages were what the hand was saying, I thought I had to press enter to say it. Well, my name on DS is Ianflow124, but, I need to find a way to teach them to fight, but, I now know how to teach them cuss words, so, I guess they'll say that during the fight! EDIT: Failed at teaching cuss words! BUT, I learned that if you say 'hit', or 'kisspop' around the norns (They were children and babies), they will do it, or, attempt to do it in some cases. My goodness, kids sure are impressionable these days, am I right? beep |

So they're the same huh? Oh well I guess the siamese for me are all sad loners  You can train norns by getting them angry and bored and tell them to hit.. I let one loose in my clone world but after he killed my grendel I just got sad. |

If i hit my norn once, s/he will be addicted to hitting other norns for life which teaches my other norns to hit  .When life hands you rocks, you throw them back When life hands you tubas, you mistake them for rocks |

Doesn't happen to me. Slapping others will be punished with some slaps of me and about 5 minutes following with the words "push #species of the creature#". i just throw it against walls repeatedly, that way it doesnt dislike me and it still does what i say. does it react to pain or just slappping? in the spring you gotta let the flowers fully blossom |

I think pain works a bit, but punishment (the chemical) has a much larger effect. Sadly normal norns get it only from the stimuli "Hand Slapped Me"... Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis... |

Yep, wait, should we make a methods of punishment, thread, for the punishment thingies.... Anyways, I noticed, banshee grendels, are extremely hard to train to not hit norns, and as a baby, their only desire is to attack norns, though, the only norns they don't really kill often, are hardman, bondi, and my toxic norns.... They seem to accept the hardman norns as their own kind.... beep |

Is it just me or can Banshee babies not hit? I've sat and watched five or more baby Banshees repeatedly try to hit a Norn [they even say that's what they're "doing"], and nothing happens. The Norn just stands there and stares at them stupidly. Then when they grow up they make up for lost time. >  |

Hmm, I also noticed that with my Shadows of Albia. They use Aqua Norn legs so they are... well... they are short. Sometimes I have the impression that they can not "reach" the large Norn. I think the agent which "generates" the corresponding Norn is hidden in the head. When they can't access that agent they can not slap it. I train banshees easily. What are you talking about. I have one in my main world that kives not to far from the norns. Never slaps. I stick the in front of the training dummy. When They slap it,I slap them. In my nerd cave, nobody can hear you scream. Feed my pets: Shroomy and Glow! |

It would explain why Creatures always seem to try to slap each other's faces, instead of slapping them anywhere. ^agentrok: what are you talking about? And do you really need to be so defensive all the time? Yes my banshees are aggressive--because I encouraged them to be that way, and I'm not complaining about that. So chill. |
