Wasteland Glitch Fix C3DS Vermidia | 12/14/2020 | 4 |

The Wasteland glitch is a bug in C3 and DS where when 2 geats look at eachother, they'll cause a bunch of rooms to turn into atmosphere, breaking ecology and CAs and other stuff. This is clearly some sort of engine bug, so how does this fix it?
It seems the problem is classifier based, or more accurately, how creatures classify things. So what this fix does is classify all geats (of genus 4) born, imported, or warped in, to machinery. This stops the rooms around them from turning into atmosphere, and it may, possibly, stop crashes(untested).
This will most likely make existing genomes unable to effectively breed due to seeking out 'something' instead of 'machinery'.
There's now a lighter version included, that you can use instead that simply makes geats smell like machinery and associates them with that smell.
1.21: changed cos file name so it loads last properly now. |

Doesn't affect anything but I wanted to point out that z is still capitalised in the readme about the file names, even though it's fixed in the cos names haha.

Huh, interesting. That might mean the crashes are either caused by not what the wasteland part is? I'm sadly unable to replicate geats crashing the world(They just cause the glitch) so I wouldn't really know how to fix it if something else is causing it atm.

neither version prevents crashes, but do prevent wasteland. thanks anyways.

Aw shucks, I somehow failed to notice this! I'm glad that my research proved useful to someone

They might, but there's only so many of them to interact with, and most of them are in c3 :p.

So fixed genomes will try to mate with inanimate machines?
