Trumpet Plant Fix C2 Jabber | 8/14/2020 | 4 |
type | Living | author | Jabber | updated | 8/25/2020 | version | 1.2 | Did you know Trumpet Plants are busted six ways from Sunday? This COB fixes many script errors that prevented them from displaying their intended behaviors, implements some failsafes, and adds a few new features. In short, Trumpet Plants will now "flower" and release flying seeds, die after flowering 3 times, Trumpet Fruits leave behind a seed when they decay, and both types of seeds are now edible. Version 1.1 also makes the Trumpet Seed Launcher properly stimulating. Version 1.2 makes the plant itself somewhat stimulating and adds a new, more decayed-looking sprite for the Spoiled Trumpet Fruit, as well as fixing syntax errors that would create a neverending cascade of bizarre error messages under certain conditions.
All existing plants, fruits, and seeds are affected. Wait a few minutes to watch them flower for the first time, the way they were always meant to!
Big thanks to Verm for their help making sense of the weird, nonfunctional blocks of code and coming up with solutions to problems I encountered along the way, and to bedalton for locating the source of the one-error-message-per-frame issue and coming up with an alternate method of keeping plants from growing underground. |

Thank you!

Added and updated! Hopefully that covers all the bases with this plant. I can't help but wonder how it made it to release with so many issues, big and small.

It's not fun to play with - it doesn't give any kind of feedback at all to creatures that try to use the vendor. Cactus seed vendors are fun to play with (source, source), this one should be too. Something like reducing boredom and NFP a bit should do the trick.

No, but it can. What does it mean for an object to be unstimulating? You mean the seed launcher, right?

Does this fix the problem with their vendor being unstimulating?
