Not long now. Gultha goes and checks up on his daughter Glynn, and on her unhatched sister. He taps on the egg, and thinks he can hear a faint tapping back. Smiling, he wanders back to the caves. Almost all his old friends have gone now. It'll be good to see Spice Drop again - and Belladonna! Well, that should be an interesting meeting. Gultha settles down on a rock outside the caves, and watches the world go by. | |||||||||||||

Leaving Belladonna after a short visit, Gultha sits down on a rock by the river to think. Over the last few days he'd tried hard not to lose faith and to jolly Bella along, but he'd been so shocked to see her today. They'd once talked about getting together, but Gultha was starting to think it would never happen. They'd always had an understanding; both their carers had approved; but when Gultha asked Belladonna to marry him, she'd put him off, saying she needed Laura's approval. Gultha couldn't understand why it wasn't forthcoming, unless it was because Bella was so ill. | |||||||||||||
