| Joseph hatched by a lonely rock. In his youth, he tried to set out in search of answers, searching far and wide to see who his mother was and how and why he hatched how he did. Eventually, however, he came to realize that he was never going to answer that question.
So instead, he spent most of his grown up life keeping an eye on his inventive wife, Petra, and his two kids, Obsidian and Detlef. He also spent much time questing when his family was well and good, bringing his friendship to lonely Ettinchis (and the occasional Nornchi and Grendelchi) everywhere.
After he said his goodbyes, Joseph set out on his final quest. It took him to the very same rock by which he was born. It was there that he waited boldly for the end to come, and it was there that he finally passed on. Rest in peace, brave explorer.
As opposed to the aloof, easily scared standard Ettin, Joseph was brave and quite sociable. Such a personality served him well in the quest to find out who he was and to meet every Ettinchi. Joseph has found his final resting place.... |

"See you soon", Petra says, her normally brassy voice strangely soft and hoarse. She curls up in front of Joseph's grave.

Joseph makes haste through the woods. Having said all his goodbyes, he's spent most of the last day looking for something, driven by a desire so ingrained that it feels like instinct. He doesn't know what he's looking for, apart from the fact that he knows he's looking for a place to die.
After what feels like a century, he finally finds the object of his desire sitting in a clearing - a very familiar, moss-covered rock. He doesn't know why it feels familiar, but he knows that this is where he would wait out eternity.
He sits down and leans against the rock, vaguely wondering if it was here where he would finally learn about the mysteries surrounding his birth, before finally drifting off into a deep sleep....

Petra is surprised at Joseph's gray hair. She offers to dye it for him if he likes!

Petra accepts the flower, putting it in her hair, and smiles at Joseph. She takes his hand and places it on her stomach, and says "You're going to be a daddy!"

Cochineal spots Joseph from afar and waves at him, delighted to see another Ettin.
