| Portcullis was named after the gates on old castles. Like his name suggested, he had an obsession with castles after seeing a picture of one on an old ruin's wall. He had managed to build the keep of the castle, and one of the guard towers before dieing. His hope was that one of his children, or another Creatchi would continue building the castle. He was happily married to Pumpkin B. Spice, and had two children. R.i.p. Portcullis, castle architect. Portcullis is waiting for his Pumpkin. |

A voice whispers in Smaug's ear the secrets to making the castle stronger, and more easy to defend. And also where the best places to get stone at.

To his dismay, Smaug finds that walking through the undergrowth probably wasn't the best idea to get around. More than a few times, his hoppity got caught on a branch, forcing him to stop and remove it, and furthermore more branches kept scratching at him. The more he moves forwards, the angrier he gets.
Up ahead, he suddenly sees what appears to be a clearing of some sort. Not wanting to remain in this growth for much longer, he takes the exit. As soon as he fights his way out, he turns back towards the plants and snarls at them, not particularly caring that it was about as effective as picking a fight with a rock.
He turns away soon afterwards, and...oh, what is this? Someone, or something, had built quite a grand structure here. It looked decidedly unfinished; there were a number of entrances that looked like they were supposed to attach to other rooms. More importantly to Smaug, it also looked quite abandoned. Granted, it looked to be in good condition; none of the rocks that composed it were covered in moss or suchlike. However, all the weeds suggested that there was no one here to tend to it.
As he puts two and two together, the wicked grin returns to his face. As far as he was concerned, it was finders keepers. This building would become his lair, the center of his territory, and a good place to eat his meals. Without further hesitation, he strides in.

Goodbye, my dear friend

Portcullis smiles at her happily and sweeps his hand as if to show her the castle for the first time. "For you my love. It's yours now."

PBS walked over to her love, calling in joy. As she approached him outside, she noticed how much had been done on his castle project. She was amazed at the sight, and when she regained her attention, she was standing in front of Portcullis.

Portcullis puts the final touches on the first guard tower and looks over at the courtyard. Weeds are everywhere, and he realizes just how much time has actually passed. He's enjoyed building his castle, but he decides it's time to spend a little more time with his wife and unborn children then adding another tower onto his castle.

Portcullis has grown up quite a bit, and can even move those stone bricks. All he's managed to build is a small keep, but he is plotting his next addition when he realizes he doesn't even know if other Grendelchis even live near him. Slightly deflated by that thought, he decides to add on an extra bedroom.
"Maybe I'll have a use for it someday..." he mumbles to himself. Maybe advertise his castle as a bed and breakfast when it's done? He thinks about the best way to advertise his castle hotel while he wanders off, to look for more stone.
