I'd say leave it 3 to 18 hours to give yourself (and them) a chance to think on how it went. Don't leave it to long as they may assume you are not interested, or are playing mind-games with them. | |||

If you really like the person, you should arrange the second date straight away! Instead of playing mind games with the other person, y'know? Even if it's not intentional, it can do a lot to someone's ego. Especially if they feel nervous about making the call. | |||

I'd say a text to let them know you got back home safe, and then establishing when to meet again, calling or texting depending on what they prefer. I don't think i'd appreciate mind-games in that regard. | |||
