The Thing is, we may dislike the Mobile Game Mentality, but there is Another Generation of "Gamers" right around the Corner, which does not know Much else then Mobile Gaming, Facebook and all this Crap.
Fishing Cactus will make the game of my worst (Creatures related) Nightmares!
BUT! it will work like Sliced Bread!
It has Everything of a "Good" Mobile Game:
- The Cutzies (Check)
- Sensless Timers (Check)
- Social Share Crap (Check)
- the Illusion of the game being generous by giving "lots" of ingame Currency (Check)
- Making the Player think they need to Care for something "regulary" (Check!)
- Buyable environment Stuff to make everything look even more Cutzies (Check)
I just HATE all this!
But maybe i am just to old for this, the Target Audience might LOVE all that!
I find the emptiness of the game disturbing. The original Creatures games always had a lot of life, activity, and detail in their worlds. This game seems to be vastly...empty. A creature wanders around, one critter and a few mushrooms... I'm not feelin' it... I love the ecosystems of the previous games. This game seems to have none. I appreciate a focus on the Creatures themselves, as it hearkens back to C1, but I also enjoy a more immersive world. This just all seems very mellow and bland.
Maybe they'll add more critters in the future? I don't know. But the way everything is time-gated... it's so... what's a good word for "behaves like a horrid Facebook game"? That's what it seems like...
@lisha777 I hope it works like Docking Station's warp. I know you can send eggs to other players, which is easier than impregnating a creature and sending it.
@Jesseth That's why the biggest drawback of this game/business model is no mods, so we can't fix the irritating things.
I think we can still have fun with this game though, since they couldn't improve on the brains much, they've focused on the aesthetics, and I think they've come up with a really cool system, with the patterns and splicing, and quests to obtain certain pattern combos.
creatures caves is your #1 resource for the creatures artificial life game series: creatures, creatures 2, creatures 3, docking station, and the upcoming creatures family.
