If they make that stuff autocollect, it would be cute if they could do it by having some little critters pick up the stuff and carry it into a little hole or something.
The devs have tweaked the loud sound effects, Norns will have different voices incluiding the old one (if this isn't just a random thing you could selectively breed Norns that sound like the old ones) and the XP and coins auto collect.
I wonder if 'altruistic norns' will want to push the droppers? (The cotton and wheat plants.) It looks like we'll have to craft all the items in our emergency supplies?
Since I've apparently turned into the voice of reassurance for this thread, have you guys noticed that you can make basically everything you could buy with the crafting system?
If you don't want to use the coins, xp, golden eggs or anything else, it looks like you can literally make the things you need! They're giving players all the options they can think of it seems. Also we know that they straight up said that golden eggs speed gameplay but are not required to complete it!
in short: don't like the coin maker? Use it for all of five minutes then grow some plants to make your custom items from!
Also on the 'sim' side of things. That is completely optional you know?
You can just leave the norns to do what they always do, they still have their genetic instincts and behaviours after all, you could just let them roam! If anything, actually being able to give them instructions and then reward or punish them sounds like the answer to everyone's screams of anguish when going 'dang it norn, why won't you just eat/push door/ect!!'
Basically, you can train them much faster, and then let them do their thing like you always would, depending on whether or not you're going for wolflings or just want to make a good base population c:
(also mods are not out of the question but just on a whole new level of tricky, we're probably talking about playing with things like 3d model vertices or in-game hues)
You're right razander- we should be blaming ourselves for allowing this to happen. There's a super simple solution: stop playing these kinds of games and the companies will have to find other ways of building games that we'll actually enjoy.
"...no say in the production and development of mobile games..." - We do have a say. With our attention and our money.
Unless influenced by parents and peers, or steep themselves in older games, they won't know that there are better things than mobile and Faceblerk-style games. Sadly, the markets indicate that those are the types of games that people eat up (because they're "free" and easy to access).
You can bet your bum that anything you think is missing right now will be introduced as a way to chip away at your wallet.
In the end, we should definitely be blaming ourselves and those who play those kinds of games. We are the only reason they are so popular. We are the reason they keep building them.
Note: "we" as in everybody who has ever played one of those "free" games.
ham5ter, I don't think you should be blaming children, or anyone else who has no say in the production and development of mobile games, for the continued implementation of predatory features in these games. I don't think anyone desires, let alone LOVES being manipulated into emptying their wallets for crumbs of joy and turned into gambling addicts.
