Creatures Online: Altar Machine Malkin | 9/15/2014 | 3 | In this week's Creatures Online update, the mysterious Altar Machine was introduced.
If you drag and drop a Norn on this machine, a short animation will be triggered and the Norn will disappear forever in an ethereal light. Thus, some genes are dropped which may be used later in the Splicing Machine.
It may be a way to ensure older and dying Norns will leave room for younger ones. Of course, it can rise some ethical questions, like a lot of things in the Creatures series… Norns do not seem to really care though, as they will wave you a last goodbye while standing on the machine. |

At the moment it sounds like it's presenting death as 'The Next Great Adventure' by having your norns wave goodbye... Just some kind of acknowledgement that this is a serious step that should not be taken lightly would be good.
Eww, Laura - Soylent Green is People! XD

Papriko: It might have felt friendlier had it been called the 'Jello Machine'...
Isn't it expensive enough to kill send your norns into the magic light?
I hope it won't be easy to trigger accidentally - or perhaps it should be very expensive to use, coin-wise?
As long as it does not produce mysterious green jello after usage...
It feels a bit steep, particularly as the prize is gene parts of norns, rather than a new baby norn from both parents (as in the splicing machines)...
... Yeeeah. What are the folks at Fishing Cactus thinking?
Sooo... It's basically a sacrifice? That's alarming.
I just hope the norns can't use it themselves.... Can you imagine norns suggesting to each other to 'use machine'??
That's... pretty **** creepy?! o_0
(Toned it down a bit more. Wouldn't want to shock anyone.)
