Fishing Cactus' Official Statement Laura | 1/23/2016 | 4 | Following on from the previous update, Fishing Cactus have finally confirmed the sad news that development on Creatures Online has been halted by its publisher, Bigben Interactive. Unfortunately, Fishing Cactus couldn't go into detail about why this has happened due to legal reasons, but they have given the Creatures Community a heartfelt apology via an official statement on their blog.
From what we can understand, any future updates about Creatures Online, including the management of the official website and forums, is now out of their hands and into those of Bigben Interactive. Feel free to discuss and share your thoughts in our forums, or in the comments below.
Thank you, ItinerantWraith for bringing this news to our attention! |

Uuh.. they didn't make any ripoff games... they were responsible for the mobile adaptation of known franchises. Seriously I can understand you're angry, but don't resort to slander.

Buries my hope for that flow of new blood here we all predicted. So does bigben own the rights or do they only provide the necessary riches?

I've never actually looked at Bible's games before, and I agree, they are clearly plagiarising other franchises.

| Oh man looking at Bigben's game catalogue I'm not very surprised, it takes a special kind of people to make ripoff games..and with special I mean easy profit would be the first thing on their mind.
I'm sure that this community could actually make a really good creatures sequel, innovative and cute but still retaining the same spirit, if it weren't for the legal issues of course : p

Sooo, what does this mean for us? Sphericus metaroom, perhaps? We've got enough creative power in the community to make something amazing, I'm sure! We should try to stay positive.

I disrespectfully disagree, fat chance they'll actually make any effort. they'll bury the game.

I respectfully disagree there Rascii, it's incredibly easy for a publisher to disrupt development or worse, deny funding for whatever reason.
Feel free to look into the story of Obsidian Entertainment being denied money because Fallout: New Vegas didn't meet a specific Metacritic score. Thankfully they've managed to stay afloat thanks to a very successful Kickstarter but it doesn't change the fact that they were denied money due to a silly number.

Perhaps BigBen finally got fed up with FC dragging their feet and decided to find a new developer. Might not actually be bad news.
