It most definitely surprised Vekk that Willia accepted his offer and came with him to the lab. Her visits there had always been rare and far between. Maybe she had the same thought that amused him earlier. Vekk accepted a few of the treats with a smile and sat with Willia, an arm wrapped around her as they watched the students and assistants mill past them. To pass the time he told her the stories that he knew about the place and what he could find on their respective families. It helped to distract him from the very moment when her time finally ran up. But he had noticed anyway and spent a good deal of time just sitting there holding her, reluctant to leave her side. Until one of his trusted assistants ran up to them with news that their other son has hatched. The news brought a smile, though it also added to his sadness. He thanks the younger Creatchi and with one last look at Willia, asks him to begin with the rites just as they had practiced. He would return shortly, it was obvious that he was off to see his newly-hatched son before he left. | |||||||||||||||||

Willia is on her last minutes she feels, and accepts kindly. She follows Vekk to his favored place, and sits to enjoy quality time. She knows she is the first to go though, and is comforted only slightly that she won't feel lost in this new tradition, but sad that Vekk will be without her but for a short while. She pulls out a little bag of colorful treats she had recently found, and offers to share some with Vekk with a smile. Nothing their senile teeth can't handle though! If a Grendelchi were to pass, the sweets and her tired body would keep her still. | |||||||||||||||||

Vekk yawns and preens himself a little before entering the home that he had shared with Willia; his long trek from the lab, to their sons, and to home finally over. Much of his business was complete and he felt that he would be content to spend what time he had left with his quirky spouse. Neither were long for joining their deceased family members, but could be separated once they crossed that great divide. He had decided to follow the family tradition of being buried in the lab and haunting the halls with the Nornchi before him, but would not name a successor, and had told her as much after the usual homecoming routine. Unsure of her own final wishes he extends the offer of the same being done with her, but only if she felt comfortable with the idea. He was still mindful of her fear of grendels, after all, and would not blame her if she didn't want to. But all the same the thought of her haunting them for a change brought an amused grin to his grizzled muzzle. Regardless of her final wishes he was determined to spend as much time with her as they had left. | |||||||||||||||||

Willia found the apple with glee, and reached just that age when she took it as a serious sign of affection. She ran on over to Vekk's hideout, only to remember he was still quite young. Ahh the waiting game, she thought, - And simply slunk back to her den to sleep. | |||||||||||||||||

Unsure of if she was awake or not Vekk creeps up on what he believes to be Willia's hiding place of the day. He wasn't sure when the silly game had started, but he liked it. It gave him something to do on his breaks from the lab. Today he carried with him a candy coated apple that he had made. Knowing her fondness for sweets, he hoped to get an opinion from her. Edit: Speak of the horned one! That gave me an apple.
