Creatures Online in Hibernation Laura | 11/2/2015 | | Today we've learned the disappointing (but maybe unsurprising to some) news that development on Creatures Online has been suspended due to a lack of funding. The original source of this announcement can be found on the French website, Pockett Videogames, but here's a rough translation:
Originally released in 1996, Creatures is an artificial life program by Steve Grand, who worked for Millennium Interactive at the time. It was followed by Creatures 2 in 1998, and Creatures 3 in 1999. These games had marked many players. After a long wait, we were expecting much from Creatures Online by Fishing Cactus (development team) and ProSieben Games and Bigben Interactive (publishers). The project continued to move in April, but according to our information, development is now on standby due to lack of funding. However, various companies continue to announce and mention Creatures Online on their respective websites. The game was announced on iPhone/iPad, Android and PC/Mac. Hopefully a solution will be found!
