Uncomfy Lore-ish Error Message Screenshots CosmiSynth | 11/11/2015 | 5 | "The game can only load in ancient Shee DNA, from the time when they left Albia. Any other DNA won't work."
Um?? Would you like to explain this cryptic and suspicious bit of error message, game? Please? O-O |

@Dragoler
(I love figuring out worldbuild and lore stuff, even if some of the pieces end up being conflicting. It's so fun, plus it makes a lot of opportunities for AUs, hyukhyukhyuk eue)
Or alternatively if you interpret C1 events as the "newest" in the timeline, Ettins could have gone extinct! They were used as helpers, after all, and genetically are very nervous things and actually get a lot of their stress relief from playing with and activating gadgets. Food for thought! (The timeline order probably does go the other way, but I'm fascinated by the idea that you could also justify it being backwards with what information we have if you really want to.)
Just going to point out that The Lone Shee probably didn't invent the Ettins since since the Shee Ark had an Ettin injector in it before and when he got there, heheheh.

I think this is how the timeline goes:
- Shee leave Albia, Lone Shee gets left behind working in some underground laboratory - C1 takes place
- Lone Shee leaves Albia, obliterating the surface, a long time passes - C2 takes place
- Shee reach Sphericus, arc abandoned and set adrift - C3 takes place
Judging by the magma story it seems that Albia recovered from the Lone Shee's escape before the arc went adrift (as he found the Ark in orbit of Sphericus) so it is likely that C2 does take place before C3 but there is really no hard evidence either way (that I know about)
This could also mean that there were no Ettins in C1 because they were all kept within the Lone Shee's lab... he may even have been the one to invent them?

@Jesseth
Nothing morally reprehensible or socially unacceptable. I promise.

@Dragoler
I know, right? I thought it was kind of a startling but fun thing to find in an error message. Also makes it sound like you're trying to violently splice a Shee in there, which could get extremely dubious at best from an in-universe perspective

What arcane things are you up to over there THIS time, Crafty Shee =v=

@Papriko
I shouldn't have any C1 or C2 data in there (I might take a look after this JUST in case though), but either that or corruption would be a good explanation.
I've gotta' say though, you could get some weird timeline lore from this. The wording sounds like it's saying that C3/DS genetics data is older than C1 and C2. Does that mean that the hand interacting with Albian creatures (as in C1 and C2) occured after the Shee left Albia? You could assume that from finding all those ruins I suppose, but the buildings, appliances, etc. always looked to be in pretty good condition for being ancient. You could blame ettins for things being in working order, but... C1 doesn't have ettins. Did they go extinct on Albia between the time the Shee left and when the hand arrives? RIP the ettins I guess!
I guess if you needed some more information on that kind of thing, you could extrapolate it from this error. Fun!

That's a fun bit of attention to detail, though it makes it sound like they are talking about an actual Shee's DNA! (if only)
It looks like a weird mutation must have happened and the game doesn't know how to deal with it, so it thinks you tried to load up a C1 or C2 genome.
That would be my best guess anyway.

I think this usually only occurs when you try to load C1 or C2 genomes, like I said in your bibble.
But when you said you used the DS splicer, I have no idea how this could have happened... Did it try to load genomes from or something and you have forgotten C1/C2 files in there?
Or it simply had a hiccup of some sorts and corrupted the gene file it was working on...

@Savannahs11
Splicing with my splicer in Docking station (I don't have the Shee breed installed or anything like that either, assuming that could be a reason for that kind of text).
It just sounds like a very, er, un-error-message type bit of text. Kind of weirded me out.

What were you doing when that happened?
