I'll likely ask this before I get to the elders, but what if I did an overhaul? Rather than just having a different face, elders would have more faded colors and be approaching more of a grayed out look. I'm really not fond of the faces, either: To me, they look so tired and unhappy, rather than just old. I'm thinking of lifting the sagging eyelids a bit and going more for a wrinkled, happy appearance. Or maybe that's changing things a little too much...
Would anyone object if I ended up making the "shrinking" breeds (those who get smaller in old age) standard size again? Still undecided about this, since mixed breeds still give me a laugh when only parts of them shrink!
I kind of like the elder pixie norns' faces as they are, they're a lot more subtle than the others (maybe almost too subtle on the female?). I also like the grey tint on the banana and horse norns, and the grey hair of the female horse norn. But other than that, I wouldn't mind seeing them being changed. I'm not as attached to the elder looks as to the rest (since back when norns basically lived forever I tended to export them when they were 6-8 hours old). I also agree that making them look less miserable and more grey/faded overall would be an improvement.
And YES, I'd LOVE it if you changed the "shrinked" elderly PMN/Forest/Ron norns back to normal size. I was actually going to suggest it before I got to that paragraph. I always hated that shrinking, I think they look so silly when they're crossbred with the regular sized elder breeds, and not really in a good way. It's also unrealistic. Elderly humans get kind of hunched over and can get a few centimeters shorter, but there's no animal on earth that goes back to being child-sized when aging. So yeah, a definite thumbs up if you decide to do that.
