Yeah, but also add a gene progesterone + flying chemical = same amount of progesterone. Flying females can not lay eggs. They must land.

Maybe a nest agent so they can
when theyre pregnant, maybe an urge to land in nest.
nest doubles as incubator.

Very nice first sprites Arnout - I'm liking the colours! They'd look nice and vibrant in-game. |

I've had flying Norns before... They aren't all that easy to take care of. Of course that was with Creatures 2, maybe in DS or C3 it'd be different (Maybe they'd land every so often) |

There could also be a chemical reaction that makes them fly when in danger AKA-grendel smell!

I,ve got some bad news, i can,t continue this project, because my spritebuilder won,t start at all.
I maybe can try my GIMP plugin for C16 files.
Edit: Its working again! |

Oh, good luck Arnout!
I truly hope this wonderful idea gets made into a breed for sure.
Coc.katiels are sooo cute! And these 'Tiel Norns sound adorable. I guess that making a whole breed is a lot harder than I thought but it looks exciting.
I'm back after 11 years. Holy dooley! |

What do you people think? Is this version better then the older one?
I think the older one was better, because it was cuter, but i think i,m going to create another version. |

I like this version too. But I remember with coc.katiels that they have the little orange 'beauty spots' on their cheeks, not going up into their hair. (I have three pet 'tiels here for reference, Two boys and one girl :3 )

This one looks much better, i,ve also found out how to shade the brighter colors in gimp.
The baby's will be smaller and cuter, with more fur and bigger eyes.
And the old males will have the white face mutation, and the old females will be all-white.
Edit
Here is my last version, and i think that this is the best one. I only forget to add the bigger eyes, because this is a baby sprite. |

I don't mean to be rude but I liked the other concept better "points to pic with the words Geat slot C above it". The black one looks like an angry monkey, still nice compared to my drawing. XD

I think it's very cute. I especially like that baby sprite, it's adorable. Really looking to forward to seeing this breed.
The only critique I have is that you may want to lighten up the darker areas. IRL the darkest shade 'tiels get is a sort of slaty "60% gray".

Hmm...that's true, I think. I have never seen a black coc.katiel before.
Sago (one of our cuties) is that stormy grey colour Ghosthande mentioned. But he has a pale buttery yellow head and bright orange cheeks like you show in the black one so those parts are accurate. All our birds have the orange cheek circles.

Yes, the yellow and the orange both look great. All I meant was that the base colors (black/brown) are rather dark. That minor detail aside, they look positively awesome.

Well, i think i make the males somewhat brighter on Adolescent, and the real 60% Black on their Adult stage, because 'Tiels in real world, also are 'somewhat uglier' when they are young chicks.

Or we make the female produce just an unknown chemical and we use that chemical to reduce the flying chemical in a chemical reaction.

I think my colors are a bit too dark, and this means that i am going to have problems with my game, i also had this problem with the Black Blob V2, those where not hatching at all!
I,m going to do what Ghosthande said, i,m going to use the 60% black for the males, and the females will be brown/yellow.
Maybe it would be better if i... Would start with the Body sprites first! XD
They will have a normal norn tail, but they have more fur on their tails. |

Genetics update!
- CFE
The 'Tiels aren't just normal norns, they are wild, and don,t like the company of the hand, they hate it to be tickled and also to be slapped. They live from seeds and fruit, seeds give them starch and fat. Fruit gives them protein and fat. Up drive makes them fly, and fear makes them fly, while down drive makes them land, tiredness also makes them land. The females will produce an unknown chemical when they are pregnant. This chemical will reduce the flying chemical. Grendel and ettin smells makes them scared, and they only like the nornhome. They are very weak, and don,t need a lot of wounds to die. The old norns get grumpy and slap each other a bit sometimes. 'Tiels do never express when they are angry.
The 'Tiels get wild on their child age, so they are a bit tame on their baby age.
They also age a bit faster then the normal norns and live somewhat shorter. They don,t need to go to the nornhome when they are pregnant. |

The wild ones hate it when the hand is around, they get scared, angry, and a bit crowded.
They know how to survive in the world.
The tame ones like company of the hand, they also do not know how to survive by them selves. A bit like the normal norns do. |
