General Forum CCSF 2015 Planning   1 | 2 Sanely Insane RisenAngel Manager     10/12/2015 So guys, I've got some bad news. It turns out I'm getting surgery a few days before the CCSF's due to start. While it's not all that major, I don't know if I'll be able to handle running the CCSF as a result. So chances are I'm going to have to pass the reins to someone else. Truth be told, I was rather doubtful of my ability to coordinate to begin with (case in point: details for the community wolfling run and CC Chat flashmob should have been released at the beginning of the month yet I haven't posted anything about them since the polls ended). This is just sealing the deal. Since it's not for another two weeks I'll still be able to receive submissions and maybe work on the website if it's ready before then, but I likely won't be able to actually make daily posts for the website, run the wolfling run, or basically anything that requires daily attention. I hate to be such a downer, but sometimes real life is just a *arg*. All the best to you! Your health has to come first, and the CCSF should be the least of your worries while you recover from the surgery. Thank you for all your hard work though. You may be doubtful of your ability, but I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that you've actually organised everything pretty nicely so far. If it wasn't for my upcoming music exams, I'd be the first to step up and take over, but I honestly don't think I'll be able to fit everything in. I urge anybody else to come forward and volunteer, if they're sat there thinking that coordinating is something they might like to do. It's a really rewarding experience when you see all the planning and everyone's hard work come together!   Lodestar Doringo     10/12/2015  2 Ah that's a shame, I'm very sorry for what's happening and I hope you can make it through okay. I have mailed you about the CCSF coordination, since I feel that it's a good chance for me to do something big for the creatures community, alongside other reasons which are written in the message.   Sanely Insane RisenAngel Manager     10/19/2015  3 So with my upcoming surgery, coupled with the fact that there's only two weeks until the planned start date of the CCSF and there's still no word on the events, I've been considering delaying the start of the CCSF. The new date would be Sunday, November 29, giving people a full additional month to prepare as well as making the whole surgery thing a nonissue (it is fairly minor; provided all goes well I should be all healed up by then). I'm still on the fence about this, so for now keep going on as if we're going ahead with the original start date. I'll keep you updated on this. Also, give me stuff! I really appreciate it. I was gutted that I was too busy to submit anything by November 1st. An extra month will be plenty of time for everyone, if things do end up working that way.   Sanely Insane RisenAngel Manager     10/22/2015 The deadline extension is now a reality - CCSF 2015 will now begin Sunday, November 29. It will still last for a week, though. For the time being, I will remain being the coordinator. I'm still looking for submissions, though! Really, really dumb. In case you haven't noticed my bibbles over the course of the past couple days, I've been having trouble setting up the CCSF website since I have zero experience with creating a website essentially from scratch. It turns out I could've avoided that headache - when I checked the CCSF email today, I found Don did give me a functional set of credentials for the creatures.org.uk domain. That website already has all the basics set up for me. Had I noticed that a lot earlier, the CCSF could have actually started today as planned. I greatly apologize for this mixup. But the good news is that the CCSF 2015 will be at its ancestral home after all. Stay tuned for the real start in another week.
