Well, I've finally published an update on the run. It can be found here. If you have a question, or want to know something not covered in the update, feel free to ask.

...Wow second death Anai. You really didn't live up to your ancestor's name. The rest of run seems to be going fairly well, even with the Norns dieing off slowly.

Poor Enkidu and Popaea! If a lot of the norns are frequenting the jungle, that may be the root cause of the sickness - I read something about bacteria generation being random, but half of all bacteria that appear do so in the jungle. I've never had a norn get ATP decoupler though - didn't realise that was an illness, thought it was a mutation? |

It was actually kind of startling that so many norns died so quickly, especially Chris and Enkidu. I need to make some changes if I don't want the whole population to die out in the first part.
I think being in the Jungle is definitely why most of the population is sick. The norns might be attracted by all the mushrooms and terraka weed to eat, so I think I might try removing some of the mushrooms, and adding more food sources to the other areas.
I'm not actually sure about the ATP Decoupler. I know that it is a harmful chemical, not a genetic defect, though. Popaea was a firstgen, and should not have had any mutations. I'm not sure where she actually got it from, though. I remember finding an article about it and all the other toxins somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now.
Edit: Nevermind, I found it. Figures I would forget to check the resource I most often need to use. It turns out that the post is from the amazing Amaikokonut, and can be found here. Anyway, apparently ATP Decoupler is transmitted by bacteria. I really need to do something about the jungle, soon.

That's a useful link - I didn't realise yarn fruit was a cure for ATP decoupler... |

I posted another update, here, about decorating the ship for Halloween, and what was going on while I did so. Remember, don't hesitate to ask about something not covered!

Corpse will actually give diseases to Creatures, if I remember correctly. Zombor is the safe one, but, thankfully, it still scares the Norns. The rest of the world looks wonderful.

Looks fab! Glad to see Abnormal Load is still around... what's the plan for the eggs? Wait till the exising norns have all died off before hatching them out? |

I didn't realize that Corpse transmitted diseases. What kind of diseases, though? If it's just antigens, maybe some fever, I might keep him, just as a hazard. If it's anything like Glycotoxin or ATP Decoupler, I'll remove him.
I'm going to wait until this generation has died out, then hatch the eggs and put them through an IQ test. Any that die, or do not make it to the Meso, will be removed. While they're doing that, I'll record the information for each one. Then, I'll figure out which norns belong to who, and the owners of the norns will be able to choose a location and name for their norn. Any norn that goes three days without its location and name will be named by Protective Tub and have its location chosen by me. Once either three days pass or each norn has its name and location, the norns will be placed throughout the world, and the second part will proceed mostly like the first.

I tested him on a few happy volunteers, and they all got geddonase, histamine A, and fear toxin. The Grendels in my feral run all died near Corpse, but they might have also been weakened from a lack of food, and other diseases.
So he's less deadly then I thought he was, my Grendels just don't deal well with one of the diseases apparently. My test Grendel from that population died, while the first gen Norn is still alive.

Hmm. Well, I think I'll keep Corpse, but I'll make sure that there are some cures around. I'll put a small Empathic vendor, and maybe a lemon pot nearby. Do you think I should put an AntiSpooky there too, or is that overkill?
Anyway, Corpse will add some minor danger to what is normally a safe area.

It should be enough for the histamine a. The geodonase should pose a nice threat to them. If you don't have enough things to make the run interesting, a stinger nest or two could make things interesting for the stupider Norns, like Anai was.

Okay, then. I've already got stinger nests in the Meso, so I might add some in other places. The Jungle is already dangerous enough, though, and the Bridge and Engineering are mostly pretty bare. They don't need to be poisonous as well. I could add some more C12DS weeds. I think I'll look through my agent collection and see what other hazards I have.
Edit:Okay, there is a Stinger nest in the Norn Terrarium now. Strangely, after that, I couldn't get any more nests. I removed a few Trappers in the Meso, and I put weeds in various areas. Deathcap Mushroom in the Meso, Nightshade in the Desert, Ugly Tomato on the Bridge, Pyrethium in the Learning Room, Laburnum in the Norn Terrarium. I put a small Empathic Vendor and a potted lemon plant in the Norn Terrarium, though apparently Corpse already thought he was thwarted, since he was lying on his face in the pond and groaning. Anyway, I did look and see what other good agents I had, but most of the dangerous stuff I haven't already added is meant for Toxic Norns, and I think that might be too dangerous.
Edit 2: Okay, I've got more nests now. Two in the Norn Terrarium, one in the desert.
Edit 3: Well, I've got another update done, and this one is more focused on the mischief the norns are getting up to while I'm busy with world set-up.
Edit 4: Yet another update.

Very small update. I have a spreadsheet for keeping track of the norns. I just copied it to Google Drive, so now anyone with the link can view it and comment on it. Here is the post about it, and here is the spreadsheet itself.

W00t, Abnormal Load still lives! And yay for more Creatures spreadsheets! (There aren't nearly enough Creatures spreadsheets on Google Drive.) |

I've finished checking up on every norn in the run, and you can find the newest update here.
Nutter, you don't really need the spreadsheet to know if a norn is alive or dead. If I don't specifically say that a norn is dead, they're alive. I definitely agree, though. Google Drive needs more Creatures spreadsheets.

I just checked the latest update on your wolfling run. Now that I know what Sahara norns are, they will definitely be added to the list for the second part, and will be included in future worlds.
Edit: Another update, in which the norns of the forum run pretend to be a romance novel.

This generation of the forum run may end soon, since just about all of the norns are in their old age.
