Zojja the "Genius" Nornchi's chosen successor, Snaff had adapted quickly to the world outside of his egg. In his early days it had been discovered that his visual acuity was impaired and after much experimentation with corrective eyewear he settled on wearing goggles much of the time. He was quite friendly despite living in an enormous laboratory that was yet to be completely explored, restored to its former glory, and improved upon. For a Nornchi he was unusually fluent in Handish and what others would call "Techno-Bibble" and had been steadily been adding to the latter. Most of his young life was spent in the company of Zojja's ghost, a peculiar but seemingly friendly shadow, and a small group of fellow male Nornchi; Tangarao, Alduin, Bran, and Link. The latter two were very quiet and kept to themselves but he always considered them friends regardless to what they thought.
As Snaff grew into adolescence he was found to be far more competitive when it comes down to the lab than with the female Nornchi. Unlike his friendly competitors Alduin and Tangarao, Snaff was more awkward than normal around the girls. But eventually he found his own lady, a golden-furred Nornchi named Yarrow. They became the proud parents of two eggs and were a happy pair up until the day she passed on. On her gravesite he planted a bed of her favorite flowers around a most wonderful surprise, a more artistic holographic representation of her favorite tree. Afterwards, out of grief, he locked himself away in one of the more private labs.
The loss of his spouse aged Snaff far more than the Nornchi had realized. His handful of grey that he was always teased about had turned into a full head of hair and a scattering throughout the rest of his green pelt. Despite his vision having only gotten worse with time his eyes still gleamed brightly, even the lines of age on his face were lightened by them. News of his daughter Ellowyn hatching brought him out of seclusion, and he spent his last days getting to know her and passing on what knowledge he could. He was proud to have gotten the chance to meet one of his and Yarrow's offspring, and to have lived long enough to hear of an offering for her hand!
