Creatures Online: Science Kit!   Malkin | 8/11/2014discuss  log in to like post  3

Creatures Online: Science Kit!In this week's Creatures Online update, the team largely tested the most recent additions to the game, including the Science Kit!

Chemicals will be displayed by category, the graph only displays the selected chemical, but when no chemicals are selected, it shows all the chemicals together. Injections will come at a cost - we will have to buy them. Most chemicals are 'generally cheap' except for food chemicals or life.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of breathing apparatus for creatures with non-working lungs or a feeding machine for ones that can't move, but that is a definite possibility... of course this is how a lot of people play creatures anyway, and you can definitely apply this argument to machines we already have in real life... So, you really just have to ask yourself is the technology bad just because it can be misused, or is it our responsibility to use that technology in an ethical way? (Besides, some people like being evil mad scientists... oops sorry... ANGRY scientists...)

The 'life support machine' sounds a bit creepy - it's like AntiNorn's Second Scenario.

i love the idea of a life support machine. maybe its something they could think about in a later release at some point

Maybe they could allow us to use chemicals with some other ingredients and maybe some additional cost to make a kind of 'support' machine that can inject chemicals on a regular basis to a creature, or a special vendor that can dispense a chemical on some kind of regular basis (like up to one full dose every x amount of time)

So it would be a way to make a chemical more available, but it would require significant additional work or cost for each chemical you want to do this with... This would let you make kind of cool things like a special potion vendor, or an 'antibody station' something like that which you could work towards...

The life support machinery idea I especially think could be cool, since it could automate dispensing of important chemicals... for example it could be used to make a breathing apparatus, dialysis machine, or automated food vendor/injector for creatures with special needs, really this would open up all kinds of possibilities, especially if you can attach these objects to creatures so they are 'wearing' them.

i don't mind the whole cost thing but i would rather it be like the other creature games where we are free with chemicals especially when you end up with the kind of care that requires round the clock care that you can become so invested in

What if they let us "permabuy" a chemical using golden eggs?

Though that might be pretty pointless, as late-game you'll have huge coin farms anyway.
