Lidd- sigh.

There was a news article about something called "OpenC2e" - That should help you out. It allows you to play any Creatures game with Vista.

-Karias; a bit fruity and gone bananas in the wrong climate! :D

Oc2e's creature and physics support is incomplete/nonpresent, and its DS support is below par -- most of the work right now is for C2.

It just freezes? Can you give us more to work with here? I thought everything after C2 worked fine on Vista, but I could be wrong. C3DS does require you to set 16 bit color first, though, that might be your problem (albeit a freeze is unwarranted).

DS works fine on my computer and I don't use anything special.

The one thing I've done that may help you is that I went to the Control Panel (you can find it on the right-hand side of the start menu, in the dark area) and into the User Accounts and Family Safety section (which appears as a link at the top right of the list), and then the User Accounts (link at the top of the list). There's text at the top that says "Make changes to your user account" and a list of clickable options. The one at the bottom reads "Turn User Account Control on or off"--I clicked that to turn it off. It gave me a warning message that my computer supposedly wouldn't be safe anymore, but I ignored that, it sounds worse than it is, most of the time all it really "protects" you from are your own games.

If you try doing that, then try installing again and see if that changes anything. I already had it turned on when I downloaded Docking Station, since I used it to help make The Sims work.

i didn't have to do anything, DS is the only one that worked straight away in vista without any finicking about.... i've treated it as a house of cards and moved on very gently, so i don't know what it is that makes it work... perhaps there's a way to find out though?

if we're not the change we want to see
if we're not the change, who will be?
